Its a great product for making your home smart. Setup was quick and easy on Amazon Alexa. Some folks mentioned it was hard to setup and sync on Android app reviews but I had no issues. I spent less than 10 mins in unboxing and sync and setup. Works well with Alexa voice control.
Only cons: Its expensive. Could be cheaper so I can put one in each room.

These little plugs are the best! I bought two of them to try them out and was thrilled with the results so I went back and bought four more. I use them mainly to operate lamps that are in difficult places to reach to manually turn on. They are a godsend for someone with a bad back. Now I wish the Insignia brand would come out with a smart light switch.

The single biggest wins are (a) that you can turn your lights on and off, REMOTELY, to any outlet that has one of these devices and (b) alter the time of day yoru lights go on.
HOWEVER, you can set $7 timers to do the turn your lights on/off. Unless you feel the need to flip on a light swithch when you are not home in some room in your house for some unknown reason, or alter the time by day, we could live without it. And, the argument that you will deter burgulars by changing the time of day that your lights go on/off suggests that burgulars are staking out your house to read a consistent pattern over time to determine when you flip your swithches. (They are not that smart!)

I purchased two of these smart plugs. The first on set up easily. The second one would not connect and I reset it and attempted the set up multiple times. I took it back to Best Buy.

I bought this in addition to the Phillips Starter Kit so I could compare. Like the simplicity - connect to your wifi and then plug in the device, set a timer if you want, and go. It's a good option if you don't want to go all in on HomeKit and if you want to set a timer. May also be helpful if you have a light that's difficult to reach to turn on.

This was a great workaround for connecting our lamps to the Google Home Assistant. Instead of investing seventy dollars on a hub to run Hue bulbs, we bought these plugs and connected them via wifi to the Google Home app. They have made light and mood shifts easy in our house. My only concern is that they periodically lose connection to the network, which requires re-connection via the Insignia supplied app.
