Setup was a little tedious, took about the tries for the first one I bought. It was a little far away from my router. The second one was less than ten feet and set up in minutes. Very responsive you voice commands to turn outlet on and off. Insignia app was pretty easy.

Spent vacation 3 states away I know it worked because a friend living next door kept me informed. I also set to be on when I got home and it was. Took a little while to figure out how set it up. IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

I bought several of these to replace an old plug and play system that was no longer working. The set up was quite simple and it does exactly what I want. The only issue is that the app would occasionally sign me out for no reason. No biggie to sign back in, just a bit of a nuisance.

This is one of my first Smart House appliances. It works pretty well with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. You just need to decide the appliance you want to permanently connect on it. I went for coffee maker.

This smart plug is well priced, set up was fast, and it works flawlessly with my Amazon Echo Dot. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a smart plug. I have two, each controls the lights in each room.

I had no problem with initial setup using android phone, insignia and google home apps. You have to sign-in using your best buy account info - which to me isnt to much of an issue since best buy already had that info. But after getting it all working I decided to rename the outlet which was easily done thru the insignia app but I had to refresh the google home app so it picked up the rename. Used it to turn on/off Christmas tree lights. Worked great for 2 weeks then it stopped working. Reset it, uninstalled/re-installed software - nothing worked. Was getting ready to take it back when it started working. Insignia had updated its software and caused issues that I guess got fixed. So from now on when I see an insignia app update I always check it to make sure it is working afterward. Has worked flawlessly now for over a month. Definitely recommend especially since I got it on sale.

App isn't the best and can be a bit of a pain to set up (Isn't difficult to do but the app can fight you along the way) but once done I connected it to my Google home and haven't thought about it since, the end result is worth the setup hiccups!

I bought a couple of these plugs to use with a new google mini. The plugs work great. I would have given 5 stars but the initial setup to get the first plug working was more difficult than I thought it would be. However, adding the second one was a breeze.

Something to get you started for sure, but just like most reviews I had issues with connecting as well. Once I was finally connected, it lags when using things like echo dot to turn off. Makes a loud clicking noise when powering on or off. Sounds like its going to blow a circuit or something, I would recommend spending the extra 10 bucks and get the name brands in regards to these kind of accessories.

I picked these up with my Google Home to get into the smart home and so far they have been hit and miss, they work sometime, they seem to loose connection quite a bit for me, when they are up they work great. Just recently the app went down and couldn't do anything, had to reset them all, very frustrating when it takes longer to deal with than just turning on the light my self, but for the price there ok.

I have 4 of these and they are good but not great. I find that it can take several 4-5- tries to get the outlet to respond to commands from the app. Many times I try to turn a light on or off and have to send and resend the command again and again util it registers.

A good and easy economic choice for building a smart home. I used this to turn my Christmas tree on and off during the holidays, and now use it to automatically turn on and off my living room light. Drawback is that it does not communicate with other smart devices.

My disappointment began almost as soon as I opened the box. I downloaded the Insignia Connect app on my iPhone 6S+ and connected it to my Best Buy account. Then I went to set up the device. As with most of these WiFi devices, it asks you to temporarily connect to its WiFi access point in order to program your WiFi network details. Unfortunately every time I did this, the app simply wouldn’t detect that it was connected to the outlet. I ended up having to load the app on an android tablet to get it set up. It worked for a few days and I even got it paired with Alexa. Then, out of the blue, the Insignia app showed no devices, as if I had never added one to my account. After contacting support I went through and re-added the device, but it never worked again. Strangely, I could still control it via Alexa. I eventually deleted the skill from Alexa and returned the device.

We bought this device to turn off/on our wall mounted bedroom lamps. Hubby said it was impossible to set up after several attempts but I was able to set up & link with Echo in no time. It works exactly as intended & was very affordable priced.

Was easy to set up with the Insignia app. When I come home and my hands are full, it's nice to ask Alexa to turn on the lights using this smart plug. Sometimes disconnects from the WiFi. That's the only reason I only gave it 4 stars.

I think this is a pretty sharp little smart plug, although I was unable to use it with my SmartThings hub. If they add the functionality for ST, I'll give it five stars! As it is though, you will be hard-pressed to find a cheaper smart plug.

This little guy has a good range and the LED lets you know when there's a problem. It does occasionally lose connectivity, but a quick unplug and plug back in fixes the problem. Overall it's a great option, and it works well with Alexa.
