Customers highly value the sound quality, price, and comfort of the Wired Chat Headset for Xbox One. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and compatibility with the Xbox system. Positive feedback frequently highlights the ease of use and adjustability of the microphone. A minor drawback mentioned by some users is that the volume could be higher.

The Insignia wired headset is a very good entry level headset. It has a volume dial and mute slider on the cord, and has a comfortable foam earpiece and microphone. The headset is light and comfortable. Sound quality is very good, although might be a little low in a loud room. One important note -- although the headset works great on iPhone or PS4 controllers, if you have an early XBOX one controller you need an adapter that has a standard microphone input on it. Any headset not specifically built for an old XBOX one controller would also require this adapter.

I bought these really due to the price because my 11 y/o keeps breaking his. All I have to say is these actually are a lot better then expected. These hold up to his way of just throwing thins around. I have even used them myself and they actually aren't that bad. I would give them a 5 star rating but I don't like the way the wires are after a few uses. The wire are stiff and seem frail. Other than that absolutely amazing headset. Perfect for my sons use.

For 15 dollers vrs the Xbox brand chat headset only. It works pretty darn good. The padding is still very soft and is very comfortable for hours. Im used to the big head phones with gameplay sound. But sometimes i like to feel the sound on the entertainment system. Chat headset makes talking to friends in partys still possible. And best part it doesnt break the bank :) always a plus!

I have two Xbox One's that are used in my house, and with a head set at each unit, this is the fourth Insignia I've purchased through the years. This is NOT a high end headset. But if you're looking for something relatively cheap and that will get you by, this is your item. Sound is clear, as good or not better then the old supplied 360 headsets from Microsoft. the buttons are functional, it plugs in easy, and again, sound both to and from is pretty good.
The only real down side, is you HAVE to be careful with these headsets when not in use. They don't take any kind of beating. And what I mean by that, is you can't just leave them plugged in to the controller laying on the floor or on a counter where the cable could bend. You have to set them aside somewhere where the cables won't get folded or smashed in any way. If you have a youngster, you know what I mean. After a few times of them laying around, with the cord folded or bent, these headsets WILL stop working. Again, this is my fourth one. They are NOT heavy duty and if you have a kid, you should know this if they have a tendency to leave the controller and headset laying around

I bought this headset as a gift for my niece. She and my son connect up over Xbox live to chat and play, especially with all the quarantining from Covid-19, it lets him stay connected with his cousins.
She loved the headset and it worked well initially but as many other reviews have highlighted it just doesn't last. Her mic quit working after less than 6 months. She doesn't abuse her stuff and this was only used for Xbox live.
I purchased the extended warranty on this headset to hedge my bets due to the other reviews stating it was hit or miss on this item. I returned the item to BB and swapped it out for a Turtle Beach headset and a new warranty and they are happily chatting while playing.
I still rated this headset 4 stars because it was reasonably priced and worked well when it worked. Based on other reviews if it holds up, it works well for a long time but it can also fail rather quickly. Given the hit or miss nature, it is worth a gamble based on price, especially if you just want to try a headset, but I would highly suggest getting the extended warranty in case it doesn't hold up.

I bought this mic as a cheap replacement for my Xbox brand ones which eventually broke after several years.
These work great if all you want to do is talk to friends when playing games online, while still being able to listen to your in-person surroundings... The one ear speaker design is a great option if you don’t want to shut yourself out from others in your household while still being able to talk to your friends online.
If you are looking for amazing sound quality & immersive experience, then I would look into a 2-ear headset design as these tune out outside noises so you can just focus on the game.
Final Review - If you’re looking for a cheap option so you can talk online this is a good option. If you are looking for amazing sound quality then I would look for a headset that has the 2-ear design. Personally, I have 2 headsets to fulfill both needs depending on how I want to play.

For the price, this headset is great. I don't like the bulky headsets very much so this worked great for Xbox. Recommend for anyone who wants a lightweight headset with good sound.

Picked up several pair of mic head phone combo sets and after reading reviews and actually wearing them for several hours they are great for playing games. They rival my old pair that came with Xbox.

I love this headset. Simple, inexpensive, and leaves an open ear so I can easily hear if the kids wake up in the wee hours or if they need help during the school day now that we school from home. Fairly durable, I’ve sat on it a few times and I’m kind of hefty these days, so there’s that. Easy to mute and adjust volume. Sound is good for the price, and voice chats in party are clear. I bought it again so I could have one both upstairs and downstairs, and not run back and forth because I forgot I left it on the other Xbox lol.

I bought this headset after my turtle beach headset broke and was just looking for something to hold me over till I could buy a better one. I have since changed my mind, as this headset works far better than I had imagined. You can hear game volume through the earpiece as well as chat, allowing you to listen to in-game conversations easier. The single wire that runs to the headset is a little thin which is why I gave it a 4 star review. I don't plan to buy turtle beach now, great product!

So my kid gets angry with Fornite and kept breaking his headphones when he would rage quit. We put an end to that! He earned his own money to buy a new head set. This time, we got him a CHEAP one. Turns out, it works really well and if he throws it (we're working on his anger), it won't shatter into a billion pieces. For you parents who want to judge... don't judge... you know your kids are also raging when playing fortnite... don't deny it.

My kid started playing Fortnite on XBOX (like every other kid, I guess) and we wanted a cheap headset. Well, cheap we got. Price is low, quality is just fine for a 9 year old. I like it, too, because I can hear it when I'm standing hear him so I can sort of monitor what he's hearing to make sure it's appropriate. Easy volume, mic is movable so he can get it at the right angle, and I think his friends can hear him just fine.
