Always liked the 360 camera. Upgraded from the 2 and its worth it.

This camera is garbage, don’t waste your money buying this camera! Battery only last 15 minutes recording and if you’re recording and charging the camera is overheats and turns off.

Cannot get watermark to remove from videos even though all settings disabled. Road mode recording creates one huge file then it will not let you edit it as its too large.

So, this camera has a lot of issues that people need to be aware of. None of which were explained by insta or its influencers.
1. It’s not true 8k and despite that being across a sphere the quality should be really good. It’s not. All the footage looks like bad 5.7k footage upscaled.
2. When these people claim this is super clear resolution, they do NOT explain it’s just over sharpened footage. When you watch videos online they are super fast, all very well lit, but nothing zoomed in so you can see how bad the footage is. It’s bad.
3. The artifacts in the video are awful. Move in just a tiny bit on any part of footage and you can see the artifacts and bad focus issues.
4. Ah the focus issues, they are bad. With and without screen protectors. Nothing fixes it. Since they used the same bad lenses from the x3 then upscaled it with this supposed game changing chip, you just get bad footage upscaled and really blurry.
5. Color banding IS a thing. And it’s really bad on this camera. Worse than the x3 and 1rs.
6. App support. You cannot export 8k on a phone or an iPad. They don’t tell you that.
On their desktop app, you can export insv files to mp4 w logo etc. HOWEVER, if you want to keep the spherical video you’re not able to edit that with music annd text and keep the sphere. You can only reframe flat video to 2.7k in their app.
Only way to edit their footage and keep a sphere is to use davinci resolve (big learning curve) or use adobe premiere (expensive and more learning curves).
This is not a good camera. If you want to see examples please look up TappedOutTravel. I have prores222 edited files there.
Lastly, footage out of camera in raw format is bad. Has nothing to do with YouTube compression. Bad is bad..

When i went to Best Buy originally to inquire about your Insta360 i waited for 20 minutes fir someone to help me. No one ever came (I was registered at your front desk. I went back to Best Buy again to inquire about your Insta360. This time when the young lady came to "help" me (after waiting 15+ minutes) she was not familiar with the product. The only thing she could do was sell it to me. I bought it and then went home and read the user's manual online. This is how i realized the Insta360 was too much technology for my objective (I believe). I returned it but this time the box was never opened. It was exactly the same as when i bought it. Needless to say going to Best Buy to get an understanding of a product has not been successful for me.

Huge data files from the X4 + slow PC/older PC = PROBLEMS!! Also, apparently having an older iphone (I have the Iphone XS Max) = PROBLEMS. I bought the X4 two days ago, and when it came to editing my footage, it went all downhill from there. First, I tried editing via the insta360 app…but my video footage and audio was extremly slow and laggy. So, I tried editing my footage via my laptop by downloading the Insta360 Studio, but my footage and audio were even more slow and laggy on the laptop! This X4 camera is 100% useless if you do not have a new phone or a new powerful computer that can handle the huge files from the X4. So unless you plan to buy a new computer or phone along with your X4, DO NOT BUY. I returned the X4 today, and will now wait for the anticipated release of the DJI Action 5.
