I think for the price point of this CPU vs the performance is an awesome deal right now I got this as a build when prices came down for a new system that didn't need to be on the bleeding edge. It has been working great with no issues with a mild overclock. Keeps up with my i9-10900k without trying all that hard. Great for anyone looking to build a new system on a tight budget while wanting to still have enough power to get some gaming in.

At first I was a little skeptical because it came in a square box and not the huge geometric crystal casing. But, it is the same processor. I love it, it is super fast! I am a twitch streamer, the processor is able to manage my stream plus whatever game I am playing. I do recommend that when installing the processor you make sure that your pc can handle it. If you have outdated parts the processor won't really make a difference in speed.

Upgraded from the I7-7600k to this beast, and WOW. I have it over clocked to 5.3GHz with the thermaltake Floe Dx premium AIO and it is blazingly fast. Windows starts up before I can get seated, apps open and run seamlessly. If you're of waiting for the next gen of Intel CPUs - don't. Get this one, excellent price, 8 cores, 16 threads, hyperthreading, everything you need to blow the competition away while gaming and then log off and do some Adobe Photoshop.

Paired with Asus Maximus XI motherboard. Overclocked to 5.1 Ghz. Great processor for gaming and workstation

I've had my new pc built without a gpu due to gpu shortages, but my pc performs AMAZING without it. You don't run games as good as if you had a gpu, but even without the gpu it's great!! I highly recommend this cpu if you can get it on sale. I personally got it on sale, and I used the money I saved to buy ram. It's so worth it!

I almost went with an i7, I am glad that I didn't. I know that it is more expensive but it is worth it!

I don’t overclock my processors, I like to run them at their normal clock speed. You can overclock it but I don’t see the need. I find this CPU works great for my gaming and work applications. I work with very large MS Access and Excel files and play games on Steam. The faster turbo mode does make my CPU cooler work a little harder but I find the chip temperature always stay well within limits, I am very happy with it.

Stable overclocked at over 5.0mhz stays cool and performs great.

This cpu is amazing! Coming from an i5 9600k, people say that the upgrade is not worth it, you get basically the same FPS while gaming, but that’s not true. Frame time problems with the i5 9600k would cause games to stutter and for me when it seemed most important. Render times were cut way down. All core 5ghz no problem. It’s a monster! If you are on a budget go with Ryzen 7 lineup. In gaming it doesn’t compare though.

i9 9900k is a beast. Handles any game i play with zero issues. Only con is the price. this thing is expensive

its good one of the best gaming cpus. just need a good cooler. noctua d15 works for me.

I've been using this for nearly a year now, and I'm really pleased with the purchase. While it isn't the latest socket version, it's something of a bargain and fits the motherboard I had purchased first. I'm not big into overclocking, but I have pushed this pretty hard (with an AIO liquid cooler), and I've been impressed with the speed. I'm an Intel fan and highly recommend.

First off, this CPU is one of the best I've ever seen let alone used in my entire life (for 1511 socket). It runs extremely well with all programs, keeps up with every task, and multiple at once due to hyperthreading, and is absolutely incredible for gaming. No GPU on the market (other than MAYBE the RTX 3090 overclocked) will be bottle capped by this bad boy. Runs extremely well even out of box

Super fast, reliable but definitely on the expensive side. My only complaint is that its definitely hard to keep cool. Hovers around 140°F under moderate load. (240mm liquid cooling system) Over clocked to 5.5GHz for a few minutes before I had to shut down PC because the CPU temp was around 175°F. Will definitely be looking into a 360mm water cooling system.

Plays any games I want and temperatures are great too.

Great improvement over my old i5. Installation was easy & by adding a new MB my experience was just what I expected. This was part of a package that Best Buy had on sale, unfortunately when I picked it up I was charges individually and not the package price. There was no receipt given since it was an online purchase & I was surprised when I got my bill.
