Overkill CPU

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly speaking the cpu is overkill unless you need the multitasking power I mostly always have a game running and a video playing and a couple chats running so I sort of need it I mostly just bought it cause it was a good price and I was kind of due for an upgrade would only recommend if you have the pockets or get it discounted otherwise look for 8700k or 9700k

Great but AMD has beaten it handily

The Ryzen 9 5xxx line are better performers for the money. If you need Intel Quicksync support then you are kind of stuck with Intel. This cpu performs really well and I have no issues with it but comparatively it falls behind especially in tasks that don't use Quicksync.

Solid processor

Coming from a 7700K and has already withstood an overtemp due to AIO pump failure and holds a 5.1ghz OC on all cores at around 1.368v with no complaints so far. Plan on letting it run on game boost for the rest of its life on a MSI Z390 MPG Gaming Pro Carbon. Would have liked it to have been $100 cheaper but oh well. Seems that waiting on the 10th gens wasn't worth it so I jumped on this one.
