I plugged this into the back of our VCR, into the USB port of the computer, downloaded the software that came with it and started transferring tapes to hard drive. Works just fine. The software provided is OK, nothing special, gets the job done. That's all you need, analog signal is just fine for transfer of VHS.

Works well with an old VCR I purchased used. Setup is easy.

I bought this product and the software because i needed to convert footage on a camcorder that used tape to digital so i could edit in iMovie on a Macbook. It worked great and the software installed easily

if you go to a place where they charge you $20.00 to transfer vhs to dvd. That's why I bought this product because it does the same thing and you just pay for this item once... it was worth it....

This is a great product for the price I paid. I'm looking forward to converting old home movies.

I have a dozen VHS-C format baby videotapes that I've been meaning for ever to convert to digital. I picked this product to replace my old copy of VHS-to-DVD software that got obsolete. It worked just as advertised; pretty easy to install and set up. The video capture and editing software is fairly easy to use, though I haven't tried out all the features yet.

Finally found one that works. Years ago I had a Pinnacle interface that worked great but it was for Windows XP (needed to upgrade) Bought one at Best Buy for more than twice the price (junk) took it back and bought the Ion Audio - Video 2 PC Digital Video Converter. Works great.....

Looking forward to using this tool to copy vhs film to my PC.

Had a lot of family VCRS - looking for a good DVD conversion option. This unit does a very good job.

This product is everything that it is advertised. Took it out of the package and set it up in a couple of minutes. Used on my MacBook Pro and had 0 problems!

This unit does the job pretty well. On mine, the S-video jack doesn't work at all. Should have taken it back, but didn't. The program that comes with it is clunky to get started. Once running it's ok. It does not recognize the unit sometimes on capture and you have to switch to some other item then back and it will then see it. Pay attention to the settings as well as if you don't have the compression on, videos are HUGH! The biggest issue was that at the Best Buy store, nobody knew what I was talking about when I stopped in. I had to go home and order it, then go pick it up. When I asked where they found it in the store, nobody seemed to know. Terrible customer service. I won't set foot in a store again until I buy it online and go to pick it up.

This is a good video capture device. I have a MacBook Pro and this is one of the few devices out there that are compatible with Mac computers. The device is simple to use and works well.

Currently using this to pull audio off a program. Sounds great. Software is a little clunky, but works for what I need. It was on clearance so guessing some improved version is out now.

This product works great for simple camcorder recordings. I was able to convert all of my tapes with no problems.

I needed to transfer hi8 movies from an old camera and this worked great! It was easy to set up and use and once I had the movies on my imac, I was able to edit them. Great device!

The Wife wanted to save some VHS tapes and this was the only solution I could come up with without paying someone to convert them to DVD . Digital copies on external drives can be converted to the next medium .

I purchased this item and didn't look inside the box. When I finally opened it, I noticed that there was no CD or instructions for the item. I went back to Best Buy and they told me that since I purchased it as a clearance item they could not give me the missing pieces. I had to do some research on the internet in order to be able to use it. I was disappointed since I have been a customer for a long time. They didn't even offer to replace it.

I thought this was just going to be low-res video capture, but it handled HD really well. The DVD creation was nothing fancy, but I didn't buy it to waste time mastering DVDs. It does exactly what I wanted!
