I was expecting this to do a so-so job. I had something like this before and it only recognized certain devices and did not work well. This was recognized instantly by my computer and was able to dump video from a 20 year old camcorder instantly. The software included even had some enhancement features that found a great balance between improving and degrading the source video.....which wasn't great due to lighting and 20 year old technology! Very happy!

I bought this but was having trouble making it work,returned it to best buy with no trouble

Not really sure of a rating as I bought it to try to convert from video camera to pc and it didn't work so I returned the item.

Easy & affordable way to transfer all my old family memories on VCR to DVD! (Also save an extra file to external hard drive).

Install instructions were less than ideal but once installed it worked as described. Have not tried to do anything more that copy VHS to PC but all has transferred fine to this point.

Best purchase so far this year. I have used this converter for hours. Easy to use.

did not work for windows8 tech said they would send disc to download have not received it yet. still waiting for the disc have not been able to use.

The ION transferred my VHS files flawlessly and seamlessly. It is much cleaner than the device I replaced. The resultant files were clean as well.

This device is awesome. You plug it into the pc, plug your VCR into it, and copy a DVD to your computer. Simple and works every time.

Works just as expected!!! This really helped me move all my 8mm video fotage over to digital media on my computer. Very easy to use!

It took a bit of time to figure things out but it worked. I jumped online and got some instructions that weren't included with the item. We turned several family videos (VHS) into great dvd's for Christmas presents for our brothers and sisters.

I thought just the expensive stuff are the best but this device allows you to transfer moviesand music to the newer format nice.

Needed it for Web cam for my camcorder but couldn't get it to work.

This piece of gear was exactly what I needed to attach a Sony Camcorder to one of my computers for live broadcasting.

Works as advertised and was easy to set up. Slightly awkward in shape and size tho.
