iPhone battery ordered and I was told I will be getting a call when the battery arrives

Was having problems with my phone where the whole unit would get super hot and a faint purple line would appear on the screen. Turns out the battery was expanding and pressing up against the back of the LCD screen in the unit. Best Buy took out the old battery, put a new one in, and I haven't had any problems since.

I had the batteries replaced on both my wife's and my iPhones 7 Plus. They are paid off and we want to keep them for a while so we changed the batteries to optimize the charge to them. It is known that these batteries deteriorate over time so this was a sensible preventive measure at a good price because Apple is offering a discount. I made appointments online and the best available for us was at this Best Buy. When we arrived for our appointment we were helped rather quickly and Jonathan was assigned to do the work for us. From the start, he was polite, professional, patient and very attentive. He took his time to make sure we understood the process and answered all our questions, He clearly knows his job well. We left the phones there and were told to return at a certain time. We returned slightly early and were pleasantly surprised that the work had already be completed. Overall, this whole process went very well.

Went in for a battery repair but the repair became a one month ordeal after Best Buy was unable to repair the phone on-site. There should be more warning that phones may have to be sent to Apple if the repair cannot be performed on site - we unfortunately learned this the hard way. Because Best Buy is just a middleman, much of the work relied on Apple's capability to resolve the issue. Had to send in the phone ultimately to Apple although Apple did come through in the end and replaced the phone for us. Would only recommend this service if you can take the risk that you might not get your phone back for at least 2 weeks. I'm giving the service 4 stars due to a positive outcome but I'm unsure whether to try this service again in the future.

Scheduling was a bit of a think but the work completed was good. Cost was good.
Just hated having to plan so far in advance and stand in line to see squad members.
Also the lead time on the battery was not initially shared and I felt was a long time. Why are batteries not in stock? or at least an overnite item, not more than 7 days.

Its great that Best Buy is now an authorized Apple Service Provider. We only have one Apple Store in our area and it is 45 minutes away and is always very crowded.
Now I can hop into either of the two local Best Buy stores near me and not have to wait for an hour before getting service.
I have had battery replacements for my iPhones at both the Apple Store and Best Buy...both were equally good and efficient, but Best Buy didn't have the long line to wait in before service.
