The small dustbin size and occasional docking issues are also mentioned as drawbacks.

I'm so happy with my Roomba! We want to name it like a pet. Works great. House is clean every day - even the pet hair. Anyone with cats or dog wants a Roomba.

It's not as silent as expected, but it's possible to watch TV while he is doing his stuff, and he works perfectly on my carpet, at first I was a little bit concerned about that, but it turned out to be great.

I love my roomba. Helps keep up with cleaning during a busy week. It does bump into walls hard sometimes and it's noisy. However the convince over weighs that. This model has a scheduling option.

I let this baby run everyday at 2pm. All you have to do is this. Be sure to buy extra brushes and filters. Everyday when I get home from work I empty the tray and change the filter. On fridays I flip it over and change the brushes. I wash all the filters and the dirty brushes(making sure you get the strings out) throw them in a drawer for the next week. done. Instead of vacuuming you just have to pay it some attention and it will take good care of you ! I spent the first weekend running it everytime the battery charged so that i could Roomba Proof the house, i had to use some small plastic risers on the couch and organize some wires. I also replaced some small rugs for heavier ones and now it gets hung up on nothing ! Have some humor because the usual vacuum patterns on the carpet are very random, looks like a drunk person did it. But if set up properly it will get every spot !

This is one of the best products I have ever bought. This thing cleans amazing, does a great job with dog hair and mess. Only issue is that it's kinda dumb and gets stuck understuff, and runs into everything.

This thing has been a life saver. I do not knowhow people go with out one!. It goes out and cleans and picks up a ton of dog hair, I didn't know how much hair was around house. Works great on transitioning from hard floor to carpet and back no problems, even over rugs. Cant go wrong!

I searched a lot of reviews before deciding on which one. The 650 is perfect for what I need. We have a small church with parsonage. I can do all our floors plus the church's. I like the dirt detection feature-it spends extra time on that spot. If I want it to get a certain spot (since it goes all over in a algorithm design) I just use the "spot" feature-it will do a circle-spiral for 2 feet around the spot. We have a lot of sand, so I need to empty it more in some parts of the building, but so easy to empty! Easy to clean, came with a special tool that gets any thing wrapped around brushes. The side brush gets the edges and the corners. It has challenges with some throw rugs, so I just pick them up. It is easy to schedule a time, finds the dock when the battery gets low if the room isn't huge like the church's sanctuary. Fun tones when turn off and on, but really funny to hear this "beep-beep-beep" when it backed up from the dock! Carrying it back and forth to the parsonage and church is so easy! I call it "Spot"... (See Spot clean, see Spot run.. :) I also use it to "sweep" my kitchen ceramic floor, gets inside the grout lines well. I have fibromyalgia, Spot is a lifesaver!

We have called him George, and we love him and hold him and clean out his trunk.
I had serious doubts, but with the return policy, thought I'd give it a try. We wouldn't buy the super expensive one for several reasons including the lack of hose for doing furniture, drapes, odd corners, etc, and it's size, which wouldn't fit under furniture. We went with George. It's hard to justify that kind of money on a piece of gadgetry, but...I wanted to try it. So, we did.
We have mostly hard-surfaced floors, but carpeted bedrooms and two shedding dogs.
I watched George perform his first run with skepticism, but by the end was won over-had totally anthropomorphized him and was impressed by his diligence. He swept corners and edges where dog hair collects. George is awesome! He vacuums under the beds, which, honestly, I generally only do when rearranging bedroom furniture.
He picked up so much the first time, his trunk had to be emptied twice before he was done. And, he had created a giant hairball on his sweeping arms from my own long hair that sheds as much as the dogs.
George makes a wonderful addition to our little family. He diligently sweep the floors almost every day. We rearrange the furniture a little bit each day, open different bedroom doors for him each day, and move rugs out of his way on different days so that he never is doing the same route over and over and the whole house is cleaner because of it. He goes up and over rugs, vents, and thresholds. He changes from carpet to flooring with ease. He runs for about an hour per charge. And, he looks especially cute with added googly eyes-just fyi.
I never swept the whole house every day, but with George, it can be done.
Why not five stars? Because, he is a gadget, not a full blown vacuum with all it's abilities and attachments. And, he needs extensive grooming about every second or third run. It only takes about 5 minutes though, which in the end is less time than it would take to get a traditional vacuum out and put it away.
We've had him more than three months and we love him.
I love George so much, that I bought one for Christmas for my sister. She calls him Mo.

This is a really cool product. It is not for heavy cleaning or pet hair. As an every day cleaner while away it is excellent. The house is clean when returning home. It is a little expensive but over all worth it for convenience and novelty.

My place always has clean floors now. All my floors are hardwood, and I run the Roomba about once a week when I leave for work. I come home to clean floors, and Roomba is back on it's dock. You will want to make sure there are no cords it will get to. I had to buy a cord concealer for some speaker wire that the Roomba liked to drag around, but since then I have no worries.

I hate to vacuum and I have a new puppy in the house. This works perfect. I e had it two months. It does get stuck on certain area rugs and won't go on one that is real high. You can move it and push clean and it continues.

I've had Roomba, we call him Mittens, for over a month now. We love him. I simply do not need to sweep at all anymore. This saves an abundance of time. Mitttens does a fantastic job on all my hardwood floors. There are thick area rugs throughout the home as well, and those get a pretty good cleaning too; however, I do like to pull out the old upright to really suck the dust out of those every couple of weeks.
I run Mittens on a daily basis just about. Usually as I'm leaving the house (he's a little loud).
He gets everywhere, all those disgusting dust-mites that live in those hard to reach places are no longer lingering.
The one downside, is that he gets stuck sometimes. Just 2 pieces of furniture, one of which I plan to get some 1/2" blocks to prop it up, and the other, I just block it off so he cannot get under it.
The one area I have't figured out how to keep him from getting stuck under, are the kitchen cupboards, sometimes he gets stuck, sometimes he doesn't. idk
Overall, I am super pleased with this purchase! I wish I got one of thee years ago!

It is easy to clean, I just vacuum out the canister and you done. When the battery gets low he just heads back to recharge. Very impressed with it.I should have brought one sooner! Very Intelligent, amazing to watch, Does an excellent job!

I think when you buy this, you have to adjust expectations. If you are buying this to be your main vacuum and there is more than 1 person and or pet in your home, you are wasting money. In most cases, this will not replace a standard vacuum. We have 3 dogs and 2 teenagers, with wood and tile floors. This picks up the dog hair and kid crumbs very well from these surfaces. We have not used it on carpet, and probably will not. It does a very good job at learning your layout and hitting all of the areas it can fit into. If it can't fit into an area, it will stop trying to get to that area, so you need to ensure the areas are clear of obstacles. I recommend this item for light vacuuming work, dust, hair crumbs. Anything large, it just kid of flicks around.

I initially bought this for my new basement carpet, which my basement is a very classic billiard theme, with a Vegas style black carpet. I found out after the fact that it won't work on a black carpet. The edge sensors 'think' roomba is at the edge of stairs.... I tried all the YouTube hacks to cover the sensors and was still a no go. Very very disappointed that with today's technology iRobot does not have a fix for this. Even if you have black swirls or other black patterns on a light carpet Roomba will stop and go the other way. I am using Roomba for my main level carpet which is beige. Works fine for the most part and is somewhat entertaining to watch. It often gets stuck and I have to bail it out. Sometimes I have to search the house to find it. When it gets stuck, it gives a warning and shuts off. If you don't hear the warning then it's 'where is Roomba' search time. Maybe the more expensive models have proved the ability to send a signal from the base back to Roomba to give off a 'I'm over here' sound or a wifi feature on your phone. You also need to stay on top cleaning it as the manufacturer recommends. Hair has a tendency to wrap around the rear roller. The cleaning tools provide only do a fair job at cleaning these. I probably would not buy another one of these until the Manufacturer figures out how to handle black carpet.

Good cleaner gets a lot of surface dirt, like pet hair. Doesn't seem to get stuck to often, every once in a while the edge catches under the coffee table and it gets stuck.

I had seen ads for Roomba but had never really considered buying one. Best Buy ad on Twitter had a few bucks off Roomba & I started reading the many positive reviews. For the past few months my arthritis pain had been increasing & I also was very frustrated dealing with pet hair from one black lab shedding hair daily.
I ordered online from Best Buy a 600 series Roomba. It arrived in 2 days. I should have purchased it a long time ago! For bare floors or carpet it is super! No more pet hair floating around.
Just want to mention one thing, the clear plastic on the dust bin has cracked. Not sure how that happened though i do notice it does bump into furniture or cupboard with a pretty strong force at times. It does not seem to affect performance & I haven't checked yet but the dust bin probably is easily replaced if need be.
My future plan is to always have a Roomba .

After 20+ years of marriage, I can't believe that this gift was the one my wife loved the most! I bought the Roomba as a surprise present the day after we had new (dark) hardwood floors installed. Two dogs, two cats, and two teenage boys would likely have meant a daily sweep job, but the Roomba handles it all like a CHAMP! One month in, and zero issues whatsoever.
Rare is the piece of technology that truly makes life a little easier - this is one of them for certain.

We have a dog so it helps a lot with the hair. Won't go on a rug with black edges because it thinks it is a cliff. Gets stuck sometimes. Good buy.
