A fun little action thriller from Michael Bay with some science involved

Entertaining film that delves into some serious ethics questions.

I really like this movie alot. I remember watching it when it came out and I was in high school. I bought it recently as a cheaper add on purchase to skirt the 35$ Purchase for free shipping. Did not regret it. For being a Michael bay film it is surprisingly restrained. Pre transformers Bay. Pre Netflix Bay. And Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson do a good job in roles outside their norm. Good story. Good action. Good quotes for future use. …Dude.

So unlike many out there I am a fan of Michael Bay films. Been a fan since the first Bad Boys film. Yes, his films are usually just big explosions and over-the-top action, but that's why I enjoy them. Sometimes you just want to sit back and enjoy a fun action movie. Despite the fact that it didn't do well in theaters I think this is one of his better films. A fun, exciting movie with great action set pieces, a nice cast, an interesting story and a nice twist. PQ is solid with a sharp picture and vibrant colors. Great AQ as well, which you want with a big action movie like this. Special features are ok, but nothing that in depth. Recommended

I think this film is definitely underrated. It’s a really an interesting concept & not at all far fetched. that reality is not at all surprising at all. Who knows maybe science is on the verge of doing that. Again. There will be allot of opposition from many different groups. It even can be unethical. And yet what a powerful movie.

This was a cool movie. I read on some forums that it was good so for $5 I thought it was worth a watch. It definitely was and for $5 it's worth earning to rewatch in a year or so. A few little things bugged me about the movie but I can't even remember what those were anymore so not a big enough deal but that's why I gave it 4 stars. If you can find it cheap or rent it for a buck, it's definitely worth a watch.

I missed this movie when in the theaters, but understand completely why the experts thought it was blockbuster material. Story was solid, script maybe a little weak. Choice for the leading couple was right on. Chase scenes were well done. This was definitely an entertaining movie for action/sci-fi fans to spend the night with.

I bought this movie never having heard about it because I like the lead actors. The story started out ok but took a turn for the worst as the movie went on. Too many laughable unbelievable scenes. It was entertaining but I wouldn't recommend anyone watch this movie.

As far as the story and acting, this is not an Oscar level medium. However, it is just plain fun Sci-Fi to enjoy and not get too tied up in the story or the actors. Since this is a more modern movie it was already filmed in the digital medium ideal for Blu-Ray, very vivid color and action.

It was so easy to order this DVD & I got it in record time!! The customer service while I was at Best Buy was superior & I left there w/o my DVD but ordered it on line that night. So Happy

This is a must have if you enjoy either of the star actors. Both are great in this movie and make it a wild ride in this futuristic movie. The Blu-Ray is great and has an excellent sound track.

The Island is one of my favorite action films. I love the story more than anything, and action/thrillers do a good job of keeping me glued to my seat the entire way through. I highly recommend The Island if you enjoy intense action with gripping story driving it along.

It has a very unusual and mysterious plot that takes awhile for the audience to decipher, plus the cast stays true to form on how their characters would be expected to react as the storyline develops. Much better movie than I had hoped for, and well worth the purchase price.

i really like this movie, i even watch it frequently love the plot story, and the cast, the ending i consider it that it could be extended a little, maybe scarlett johansson expecting a baby, or something, but all together is a great movie, fun for a friend / family movie night.

The Island is a very good action movie based in science fiction. I had not seen it before but really enjoyed it. And Scarlett Johansson looks terrific!

All the style of Michael Bay without a lot of the mistakes that his later films make. Scarlett Johanson is great in this semi-sci fi action flick that moves along at a really entertaining pace.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, you should. It isn't gonna blow you away but you're sure to have a really good time. This blu-ray looks and sounds great. Highly recommended. Just give him some bacon!

I originally saw this on a plane ride a few years ago, then got it on DVD, and now that I've done some upgrading at home, it's now even better on Blu-Ray! Totally recommend this movie for action fans! :D

This is my favorite Michael Bay film, and it seems to not get a whole lot of attention for how good it actually is. Best Buy had a very nice price for it that I couldn't pass up.

Great concept and the acting is really well done. A "not so distant future" type of movie that is fun to watch. I live in Michigan so fun to see the scenes which were filmed in and around Detroit.
