overall i wish i had a hardwire setup for my touch in my car, but because its a little older i figured i would try a fm modulator, overall disappointing, mostly a waste of $60, the transmitter is so weak i can't find a good channel, even when i am driving in the middle of nowhere between two smaller cities

I just bought this transmitter and I love it. The only thing I would change is having a stand that came with it. Your ipod either is hanging or if you set your ipod on dash or in cup holder, it bounces and causes scratches on your ipod. My solution to fix that was to just allow it to hang to avoid scratches. My boyfriend went on a trip with this product and there was little to no static.

POOR GRIFFIN SERVICE

Griffin is ridiculous; I tried to get an item fixed that was under warrenty and they asked me to destroy it (only after telling me they didn't make the itrip anymore) then send them pictures of the chopped up apparatus for their entertainment along with a picture of where I lived, then after they proved it was real they would send me a replacement REALLY?! I also had to take pictures of the mess ontop of an e-mail that they sent me to prove it was real! I was completely befuddled, I really can't believe how unprofessional they were and I told them that, then they told me that those pictures were just for fun, I guess I don't have anything better to do then entertain the Griffin people.
So, I took the e-mail and the itrip back to Best Buy and they were also befuddled by the e-mail. They took pity upon me and replaced my Griffin item with a BELKIN and it is awesome. I will never buy another Griffin product with customer service like this.

Can listen to iPod in older vehicle

I got this for my husband. His truck is a 2004 - thus, no input ports for MP3 stuff. This solves the problem. It only gets scratchy sometimes. It saves me from listening to sketchy radio on long trips where you lose station coverage. I hope to use it for audio books, too.

Best Christmas Gift

The radio in my car is not-so-hot, and I would often get annoyed with the static it produced. Since I got this for Christmas, I haven't had to deal with the static. This product is extremely easy to use, and it works great. Not only is the sound quality pleasing, it charges your ipod, so it's perfect for long distance trips. I would recommend it to anyone!

Good Idea, doesn't always work

This is a really great idea, but all the kinks haven't been ironed out. I am always having to flip through stations trying to find a new one that will work. Also, I find it plays certains type of music better than others, which can be annoying.

I have had this product for about a year and before throwing it away I wanted to write a review. The product simply does not work well even in remote areas when driving. I honestly do not think I got through one song on my iPhone without some sort of static or completely loosing signal.
If you are interested in using a product to listed to your iPhone in the car, this one is not it. It is just an expensive car charger

FOR BETTER QUALITY SET ON INTERNATIONAL SETTING!!

in order to set on international setting you must press and hold all three buttons at the same time (smart scan, plus and minus button). the first thing that apears when you hold these buttons in is the choice between LX and DX mode. Keep holding in the buttons and then it will start to flash "US'... once this happens change it to "INTL" and your good to go.

This thing sucks!

The sound quality was terrible. Static on every channel I tried plus occasional buzzing sound. Even the channels with no signal were terribly noisy with static.

Static, static, static

The main point to this review is the poor transmitter performance. All frequencies had major static issues. It is quite simply lacking the appropriate power to generate a nice clear signal.
Also, the iPhone app did not interface appropriately with the unit.

I bought this FM transmitter about six months ago and in the first month I got good reception everything seemed fine until about the second month I got constant static. I tried different stations it didn't work. The part of the plug that plugs into the Ipod; the black protector broke off, but it still worked. I am a very careful person and have no idea how it broke. The cord was a constant mess. Then about a week ago it didn't work it wouldn't charge or anything. I tried plugging it into a friends car and his friends car, but it didn't work. Now I have to buy another FM transmitter.

Problems finding clear channel

If the thing actually did what it says it does and found a clear channel, using the entire FM band, it would be very easy to use. But it seems to restrict itself to only channels at the low end of the FM band and rarely finds a really clear channel.

Brought it back one week later... don't buy!

I was very disappointed in this product and returned it shortly after buying it. It does NOT go down to 87.9 (stops at 88.1), which made it hard for me to find a clear station. Furthermore, whenever I turned on my car, the device automatically turned on my iPod (which I leave plugged into the device all the time), even if my radio was not on.
I bought a Belkin version when I returned this Griffin and have been very happy with it - still no 87.9, but at least it doesn't automatically start my iPod. Go with Belkin instead!

Great FM transmitter for iPod Touch

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I was skeptical about purchasing an FM transmitter for my iPod Touch because overall for products from all brands the ratings were pretty low. This device is definitely plug-and-play and has been flawless so far. I will be taking it on a 2,000 mile road trip soon and hope that it continues to perform well.

I love this thing. I use it everytime I am in my car. I never listen to the radio anymore. I have had this for about two years and have left it in my car throughout the winters and it has help up fine. Well worth the money.

Went on a trip up the I5 to Oregon, and back, had it connected through out. I was able to listen to songs from my phone as well as stream music from Pendora. I'm able to use it successfully even in Los Angeles.
I love it! Sounds is pretty decent, with very little static.

This looks like the one guys. I just got my new nano and i tried one after the other in FM transmitters. This was the best one. Plus it charges the battery too. This was the best one i tried out of about 5 or 6 and i am keeping this one. FNALLY. Highly recommended.
