Functional, but horrible price tag

This thing is easily one of the jankiest enclosures I've, ever worked with, metal on metal contact means this thing screeches like a nails on a chalkboard when installing your drive. Secondly, the USB 3.0 B port doesn't go in all the way in it's connection method, making the port more prone to damage. Only if you can get this product for $25 or less would I recommend this.

Terabyte HD fit in the case, power and plugged in the USB, and transferred the information and pictures easily.

He suggested, after my return that I go to Micro Center. I ordered from Amazon.

A Real Space Saver!

I bought a new laptop and saved my old hard drive to use as a back up. Flash drives just don’t last as long and once they go bad, then it may be difficult, if not impossible to retrieve your data. It saves space on my new laptop because I had a lot of stuff I wanted to keep, but not take up space (clutter!) on my new laptop! So I recommend this to anyone who uses their computers a lot.

The instructions inside the box say not to uninstall a drive once it's installed because doing so could potentially cause damage. The damage would be to the internal plastic tabs that have nodules that fit into the screw holes on the sides of the drive. This info should have been part of the product description. Makes this enclosure too inflexible. Returning it.

Posted .Some external hard drives come with their own setup software. Others require you to format and initialize the disk. The Hard Drive Enclosure does not have any drivers available. We apologize for the inconvenience.
