Q: does this 3.5" hard drive enclosure fit a desktop hard drive
A: Yes. It will. That’s exactly why I bought this...got a new desktop PC and needed to move data from the 10-yr old desktop’s 3.5” drive to the new machine. Enclosures to fit these older drives are harder to find now so I appreciated that I could get it easily at Best Buy. It let me quickly get the new PC up & running. Note: the plastic casting wasn’t perfect and the case wouldn’t go back together until I trimmed a bit but there wasn’t much to do.
Q: Does it need a power cable? The photo on the box seems to show one.
A: Mine also did not come with the AC adapter. Bet buy wants to charge my 5 dollars because it didn't come with the adapter to get a new one.

A: Seems it cant. and it does not seem to come with one.
