Posted .Hi paulnevi, we're sorry to hear that our adapter got really hot. Generally, adapters emit some heat as a normal part of its operation but the body should never become too hot to handle. Have read this is to be expected with electronic devices such as this. However, I can never be fully comfortable with this much heat generation. Do not remember other adapters I've used being this warm.

Posted .The hub is built with compactness and portability in mind, it is expected to observe that the aluminum shell of the USB-C hub gets warmer, especially if the USB-C pass-through charging and/or all ports on the hub are utilized.

The JCD383 is a plug and play mini docking station. It is easy to set up and it will work with MacOS Big Sur. The JCD383 will work with any computer that has a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. Hope that you have a good day.

This adapter is a great solution to add ports that were not included on a laptop. There is no driver software that needs to be downloaded to make the adapter work. It only needs to be plugged into a USB-C port that supports display port alternate mode. We appreciate you choosing a j5create product.
