The JCD383 is a great mini docking station for its size. It is portable and easy to set up since it doesn’t require any driver software. It will give you an array of ports to expand the functionality of a laptop.

Posted .Hello Morr, we completely understand the concern of using an adapter that is very hot. We can assure you it is normal as electricity is passing through causing the hot touch. If in the case the JCD383 is harming you or worse, we definitely suggest calling in to speak with a rep and they will gladly exchange it for you under the manufacturer's two year warranty.

OK, but seem to need power

It keeps telling that it may not have enough power to support the hub but it still works. I guess the USB-c ports do not provided enough power. I might try a USB-c to USB 3 adapter and see if the one USB 3 has the power

Posted .Hello, depending what USB peripherals are being connected such as mouse, keyboard, flash drives are low power attachments. HDD requires more power to operate the device therefore connecting a power adapter USB-C to the USB-C port for pass-through charge. Thank you for reviewing the adapter. The adapter may seem hotter than other devices because of the aluminum casing. Aluminum will transfer more heat than a traditional plastic case. Drivers dont work, no ethernet, beware!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The hub works as far as USB is concerned, but most newer versions of MacOS do not work with the drivers (or rather the drivers don’t work with MacOS, and as a result, the ethernet connection provides no internet and when you do plug an ethernet cable in alongside say an additional USB-C monitor, the hub gets extremely hot to the touch. Horrible product.

Posted .I apologize for the experience you have had with your USB-C Multi Adapter. The USB-C Multi Adapter does not require any driver to be installed on macOS systems and is plug & play with macOS. The hub may get warm which is normal, but should not get hot enough to were it causes harm.
