J5create USB Type-C Adapter

If you want to connect it to any Apple product type laptop or computer, this adapter requires you to download their J5create adapter software first in order to use it. I didn't want to chance getting any kind of firmware from the J5create software,

Depending on which series you obtained, you may not have to download any software. The Bluetooth connect between mouse and USB dongle would freeze the cursor. Ethernet never worked. Don’t recommend for MacBook Pro from 2018.

In the case where the adapter is not staying in place, this could be due to a defective JCA374 and in such cases we recommend exchanging it under the manufacturer's two-year warranty. Too bad Best Buy is almost 2hr away so I cannot just run over and exchange it.

Not very compatible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The two biggest criticisms are that the HDMI port for the external monitor does not work well and causes the external monitor to flash on and off. Also, the power cable (thunderbolt/usb-c) is not long enough and makes it difficult for hiding cables for a cleaner look when used as a port. I won't buy this again and I plan on returning it.

Posted .Obtaining the perfect adapter for your needs can be hard to find. Although the JCA374 has a host cable to connect with, we do have the JCD543 which provides even more capabilities with a longer host cable, this way you can even rest your laptop on top while working. We apologize the host cable on the JCA374 was not long enough and hope we can change our first impression in the future. Drivers crashed my laptop

Computer is unable to automatically repair itself. Needed to have a fresh install of windows. And yes, I did confirm this by trying again. Definitely the drivers for this adapter. Staying away from all j5 products now.

I actually bought an insignia product with one less port. Insignia is reliable and well worth it.

The drivers are not the easiest to locate on there website to download. Once I finally find what I am looking for the current drivers on there website at the time was not compatible yet for HighSierra OS. So it was completely useless to me. I returned it he next day.

Ethernet Does not work.

The speed test went from 100 Mbs to 1 Mbs. For some reason, the Ethernet does not work. Don't waste your money IMHO.

A few months later it stopped working with the mic but it still works with flash drives. So bought a power cable thinking that the unit just needed power. That didn’t work either.

Finally while speaking with an apple supervisor about another issue asked her about it and she looked into it and found the computer found it but wouldn't display anything hooked up to it. I had to return it.
