The Only Dongle Needed for MacBook Pro with Retina

Carrying all those items no longer made the MacBook Pro seem like a portable computer. Then I got the J5Create and now I just carry this one item and only need to use 1 port. The only thing to watch is that when you use it for the first time, you have to load the driver for the ethernet port from their website.

Wasn't aware of all the changes that have happened to laptops in the last couple of years. I was used to having all the ports that I needed right on the laptop itself. But now...with them being so compact...there is no room for Ethernet ports, HDMI ports...and now USB ports are gone. SO...I had to buy this. LIFESAVER!! Works great!

Very handy to have for many needs

I wish I could also charge a phone or magic mouse through this device, otherwise it's perfect!

Good Combination Adapter

I tested read write speed for external hard drives using the USB 3 ports and found them to be close to the speeds attained when using system dedicated USB 3 ports. Speeds using the RJ45 Ethernet port are also equivalent to those I get using other high end computers with dedicated RJ45 ports.

Great docking station/hub

HP docking station/hub bit the dust on us and we replaced it with this docking station/hub. Only supports one monitor which is fine we have 34 in curved screen and we just plug the USB-C into whichever laptop we want to use.

Works really well as an extension and expansion for my computer. I'm no longer having to decide if I need my external HDD connected or charging while using the other port for 2nd display purposes.

Works as expected and data speeds are the full 1gb that my network supports. I can take advantage of my full 1 ghz when accessing my home network in addition it allows me to support of up to 1gb Of download speeds when connected to my office VPN as well. Much cheaper than other options and certainly cheaper than a brand name docking station as well.

Lots of features in small package

Of course you have to have the right computer to really benefit from using all the features simultaneously.
