This multi-adapter is solves the issue of not having the additional ports built in to my apple product. This product was recommended at the time of the new MacBook purchase and it's money well spent.

Excellent USB and Ethernet Hub

This is my first USB-C peripheral and it allowed all other USB ports to be open for the mouse, microphone, etc. on a Dell ultra thin laptop. Its easy to use/setup and plug in. Highly recommended.

Works with either or both my ext drives [a 4T WD & a 1T Asus Slim] & older USBs. I presume it'll work with my 3 year old ext dvd but I've no urgent need to test or find out otherwise.

That was the main reason for purchase. However the other ports came in handy to use for my limited two ports on my computer.
