great hub, couldn't use the Oculus rift without it

The laptop has two USB-3 ports, one USB-2 and one USB-C port plus some other stuff. We discovered that we needed three USB-3 ports so the hub supplied the extra port (actually two extra USB-3 ports but we needed only one). It also has a HDMI and Ethernet connectors we have not used. It works fine and does not require an external power supply, the USB-C port supplies the needed power.
