I wanted it to also charge my laptop and sales person sold me this. Well come to find out the laptop does not allow charging through usb. Not this products fault.

I ordered it.. painless.. it showed up earlier than I thought possible and I put it to work right away. I don’t charge my computer through it although I could. The adapter is lightly warm with my 29” display but not even remotely hot. All around Best Buy!

After I got home with my new laptop, I realized I only had one USB for my extra mouse/keyboard and couldn't plug directly into our LAN network. But this gadget, give an extra HDMI (which I haven't really used) a port for the Ethernet cable, and two USBs
