My wife uses it to connect a MIDI keyboard to Garageband on her iPad and it works very well. She really likes the power passthrough so she can charge and tinker.

Works for Macbook Pro

Super easy to use, this is my second one; the first one stopped working; I contacted the company, I sent it back, and they sent a replacement. Caution this does not work on all devices like Dell and Lenovo Think Pad. Overall it's easy to use on the Macbook Pro. I only gave it a 4 stars because the first one stopped working for no reason, but the customer service was excellent when I wanted to replace it with another one. I think I did have to pay for shipping to return the defective device.
