This USB-C hub does not have an audio jack (no 3.5mm headphone/mic port), so it does not take over or redirect your computer's audio. The hub is designed for data, video (HDMI), and power delivery only. If you ever plug headphones or a microphone into the hub (via a USB-A or USB-C adapter), your computer may automatically switch the audio output to that device, but the built-in speaker and mic remain available in your sound settings.
