Very Good Depending On Your Needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Truth be told, this is my first foray into any Jabra product so I came in with no predisposition whatsoever. My initial thoughts, it certainly looks and feels like a quality product Has nice tactile feel and feels of good material. It's lightweight yet feels solid and substantial. In the box you'll find the headset / mic that has a standard 3.5 mm headset chord, the 3.5 female to USB adapter to hook up to soft-phone on computer and a small carry bag, for what that's worth. Everything fit into the case easily and my 13 year old daughter really liked the black on the outside and orange on the inside. Also included are the quick start guide and the obligatory but almost never read "Warning and Declarations" book. All right, lets put them to work... They are comfortable on the ear and the boom mic has a nice magnetic feature to hold the mic when in the full "up" position. Our (my 13 y/o was my official assistant tester) first test was plugged into a Samsung S8 with a live call to a land line. The sound quality of the stereo headset was crisp and clean. The mic delivered accurate and crisp sound as well. For a phone headset, it's perfect. My daughter liked the fact that she could use her phone aps while talking on the phone. She also liked the fact that the headset did not cover the full ear, thus allowing her to still hear when mom or dad hollered at her or the dogs barked in the yard. Our next test was listening to 5 Finger Death Punch on a Google Pixel 2. To be fair, the sound was not bad, but it is certainly not anywhere near our Sony or Beats full ear noise cancelling headsets. And to be honest, that is not a fair comparison so I will give them a solid 4 on music sound. Really good, especially for what they are, but for pure musical enjoyment, there are more robust (and expensive) options. Our final test was from my PC using Skype to make a call to the Pixel 2 on Google Project Fi cell network. Again, they did a yoemans job and delivered above expectation. Here is where I have an opportunity for improvement... The adapter from 3.5 mm to USB did include volume * / -, mute and phone control buttons in-line. I would have preferred to also have those options for the 3.5 connector. In all, I think these are a great option for long-term phone use and certainly capable to double as a music / TV headset. in all honesty, a very nice choice if you need a wired unit that can work both on 3.5 mm and USB platforms. These will provide quality sound, mic and all day comfort.I would certainly recommend them to a friend. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is 100% honest, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

Not for a big head (imo)
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a smaller sized over the ear chat mic and headphone combo. I do not think I have an above average size head but during testing I found these fit my 11 yo better than me (38 yo). Not to say, that they did not fit me well or perform as advertised. They just feel small on my head; maybe the pro there is that they are lite and almost go unnoticed while wearing them. One thing I really like is the external sound control. It is a heavy half dollar sized do-dad that sit on any surface with authority almost as if magnetize (it is not). This allows for cord placement; meaning you set the deal far enough away from your left hand that while connected you are not constantly tapping your hand or arm parts with the cord (which is SOOO annoying). The sound control piece and the headphones lights up and that pretty neat too. The entire build of the unit is solid. They give me the vibe that I will be able to use them for years to come. Overall, they are great and have great mic and sound input and output. I just think of some of the other brands out there and feel like these maybe do not hit the mark that some of the others in the same (or even cheaper) price range do. Nevertheless, maybe those do not light up which is really neat. I would recommend for a younger aged gamer (or someone any age without a large head).

Quite nice and works pretty well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When taking conference calls, I normally use my cell phone or earbuds. As a result, the batteries die a lot quicker so I figured it might be worth it to try out a headset just for conference calls on my computer. The sound quality on these is pretty good. Despite being on-ear headphones, they do a pretty good job at canceling out office noise. They're not active noise cancelling headphones by any means but they do a pretty good job. The Do Not Disturb light is odd but cool. You can use these headphones either through the normal 3.5mm jack or though USB. The USB dongle adds volume up/down buttons, mute and the Do Not Disturb button too. Pretty cool to say the least.

It is Not USB-C. Great quality and affordable.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The type of USB connector was not clearly specified by best buy, didn't find it, but then Jabra itself provided an answer pointing it was USB-C (who better than the manufacturer I could trust?). I received the product to find out it was not USB-C, I was dissapointed by this, tried connecting the Audio Jack directly to the computer and didn't work, so I ended up buying the USB-C adapter. (didn't have time to deal with return process and the product was sold out everywhere) Besides that experience, the product is very good for the price, especially the microphone quality which was the reason for me to buy this. I honestly wish I could get rid of the (in my case) useless extra cable with the controller.

Great headphones at a fair price!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use Rosetta Stone language software as well as Dragon for dictating my own documents and this headset/mic is very responsive for my needs. The sound is very clear and the microphone very sensitive to my voice. Every now and then a word comes up that's incorrect but that may not be the headset. It's possible the software has a glitch or two in it that causes that to happen. For the most part, it does the job I need it to. For less than $80 dollars this is a top notch quality headset/mic I'd recommend to anyone!

good quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is superior to the much cheaper alternatives available at the office supply store. It seems well-constructed, has adequate sound reproduction and volume, and fits OK. Callers have indicated my voice sounds good. The cord is not excessively long so it doesn't get tangled, and it's red which I can see easily in the black car interior and briefcase. In addition to talking, I use mine for listening to audio books on long trips with one side moved off the ear to safely hear the traffic sounds. As a professional musician, this pair is also used to listen to recordings via phone or laptop when I'm away from the studio and don't have my higher quality headphones.

Hard plastic head band has no padding
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - I really like the included pouch (even though it smells) because the headphone and dongle cables are protected from my two cable-eating cats. - Great backup headset because it doesn’t need to be charged. - I like the on-ear design of these headphones because they don’t isolate me from my surroundings. The marketing term “passive noise cancellation” is complete bunk with small on-ear cans like these. You need over/around the ear cups with a closed back to reduce background noise. Thankfully, these don’t live up to the hype, so I can still hear what is going on around me while using this headset. - The speakers sound good at low volume. These are best for talking to people, not cranking tunes. Cons: - Pouch smells like a tire store. It does fade after a week but people sensitive to smells might not want to use the included case. - Zero padding on the headband that rests on top of your skull. The headband is hard plastic and eventually it will hurt your head. - Headset does not have mic monitoring. This means you can’t hear yourself when talking on the headset. Bummer, but this isn’t a deal breaker because the on-ear speakers don’t really isolate you from your surroundings. - Flipping the microphone up into the vertical position does not mute the microphone. - Audio is muted on two different Win10 laptops when using the USB dongle compared to plugging the 3.5mm jack directly into the laptop(s). Very noticeable. I didn’t have this issue on Mac OS 10.11.6. (see comments for workaround) - The busy light does not work when using the 3.5mm connection on my phone. The busy light feature only seems to work when using the USB dongle. Comments: Windows 10 - I had to disable the Loudness Equalization setting on the Enhancements tab in Speakers Properties on both laptops. Even then the audio from the USB dongle is muted compared to using the 3.5mm jack on the laptop(s). I also have more granular control over the volume using the 3.5mm jack. One laptop recognizes the microphone and one doesn’t. This obviously depends on your hardware. The 3.5mm jack works with all our phones and tablets. I can wear these about an hour before the lack of padding on the head band starts to hurt the top of my head. I have never owned or even used a headset without some form of padding on the headband. Nothing but hard plastic resting on top your head. It is unfortunate when companies use materials that smell so bad. There is no reason this case should smell worse than the tires on my truck. It will fade but it still stinks. Overall this is a decent headset but not as nice as other products for the same money.

Good over all. Weak structure
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is amazing. The complete package is just what most people will need and use everyday. Sound quality is clear. Microphone is also working very well. USB connection hardware works fine with Windows computers. Didn't work at all with Linux (not intended and didn't invest time to make it work) plug and play didn't work. Very comfortable on the head and on the ears. Doing great cancelling environment noise. The good thing about it that it is not limited to USB connection use and that it can be used as a regular 3.5mm headphones jack. That's a very good choice (unlike some others). The only bad thing about this headset is the plastic structure. While it is sturdy enough for human polite use, the headset has a lot of weak points especially where the earpieces slide in and out for adjustment. Gentle and careful usage recommended. Overall good for daily usage.

Great Little Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I opened the box and the thing that struck me the most was the size of the ear cups. They were smaller than I thought. They fit just over the ear opening (which is what you need). They are light on your head and ears. I wore them for a couple of hours and had no fatigue, could have worn them all day and not experience no fatigue as with some headsets. They were comfortable and did no weigh my head down. The headset also has one cord coming out the ear cup. This is great, because you don’t get tangled chords. That is big plus. These were made with conversation in mind. The ear opening was clear and crisp when listening. And the mic was clear and concise when speaking. I plugged them into my cell phone and I was able to talk at a normal volume for speaking. Hearing was not a problem either. They worked great for this application. I was surprised at how well the sound was during phone calls. The cord is really two. The 3.5” jack doesn’t have the options that the USB extension has. The USB connection part of the headset includes pretty standard features with volume, mute and picking up or hanging up with the headset. Turned on some noise in different areas in the house and had a conversation on the headset. It did a decent job of cutting out some ambient background noise. This little headset did perform well. The headset is nice and light but built really sturdy. It would be hard to break them because they are not flimsy. They are also come in a soft case. This is where the size plays a part. They easily fit into the small soft case. Easy to pack for travel or just for protection anytime, the size of the headset accommodates for being in tight places when not being used. The cord could be a little longer when using the 3.5” jack, but not an issue with the USB interface. The cord was a shorter distance on the 3.5” jack, if you sit close to your computer when you use the headset, then it is not really an issue. The mic was at a very comfortable distance from your face. And the mic side of the headphones was not weighted or lean in that direction. It stayed put. When not using your mic you just move it back and push it into the headband. Now it is like regular headphones. One thing of interest is music. While sounding with clarity, the headset had no low end. High sounds or light music is fine but the headphones were really were not designed for music. So don’t put too much emphasis on music with this headset, these are more designed for calling and receiving conversation, which they do very well.

Easy setup, very good sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found the Jabra Evolve 40 stereo headset to be perfectly adequate and easy to use right out of the box. While I wouldn’t say it is the most comfortable headset I’ve ever had on, it is perfectly comfortable. The headset incorporates passive noise cancellation, and the sound quality is fine. I used it to listen to Pandora from my smartphone and Youtube on my computer. It has a built-in adjustable microphone as well as a “busy light” to let others nearby know that you are busy. The headset comes with a separate controller that connects to a PC via a USB 2.0 port. The headset connects to this controller, and it contains volume controls, a microphone mute button, and a call answer/end call button. The headset, as noted above, can also be plugged directly into a headphone port. The online user manual states that the sound quality is better when using the controller than when plugged directly into a sound source like a smartphone, but I could not detect a difference. Both sounded fine. I don’t think there is anything about this headset that sets it apart from comparable ones, although I did like how convenient the volume controls are on the controller. Overall, it does what it does just fine, and if you can find it at a good price, you will not be disappointed.

Decent Headphones, but very flimsy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited when this arrived, since I have been thinking about starting up a podcast. I was surprised when I opened the box to see how small it was. At first, the Jabra's reminded me of the old Walkman headphones in the 90's. I also noticed that it came with a carry pouch and can connect to both 3.5mm headphone jack or USB. Again, this was a good thing since I needed something to record for podcasting and the USB means I can directly connect them to my computer. I've been playing around with them for over a week and here are my conclusions: Pro: - They over both 3.5mm and USB connector. Very versatile in my opinion. - They are light. Does not way too heavily on my head when wearing them, especially as they are fit right on my ears and does not completely cover my ears. - Decent sound when I recorded my voice. The sound through the headphones were really good as well: clear and crisp. Cons: - The hinge to pivot each side of the headphones felt very loose and flimsy. When folding them to put in or to take out of the pouch seemed very delicate. Also, the hinges for the mic seem loose as well. - Not Bluetooth capable. I use iPhone 7 Plus which means they removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. Thankfully I have the lightening adapter, but it's a task to carry that around. I wished they offered a Bluetooth version. Overall very satisfied with this headset. It gets the job done and offers decent sound quality.

Comfortable, good sound quality and easy setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great setup ease, to be expected I think since it is just a simple speaker headphone. The size of the ear cups are not too overly large to completely cover your ears, which is good as it allows you to hear outside surrounding sounds, good for a work environment. The sound quality is above average to excellent in phone conversations. The sound quality for games or music is still good but not as good as my noise cancelling headphones which do cover your ears completely. But for the intended use and audience these devices hit their mark and then some. The headset can be used with a standard 3.5 mm jack which makes it compatible with most devices but comes with a fairly short cable. The second option is to use a USB interface that attaches to your computer, allows the use of advanced call management commands such as transfer, mute, volume, and answer/end. I love the microphone boom because it rotates up and magnetically locks into place on the top of the headset. This gives a nice clean look when the microphone is not needed. The build quality is off the chart, the unit is durable, lightweight, extremely comfortable on the head/ears and comes with a nice soft case.

Decent business headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked that they offered aux and usb connection options. The Skype meeting apI used them for was easily heard and they heard me very clear. I liked that as people walked into my office they saw the red light that shiwed I was busy. Now for the cons: they were not comfortable for long periods of time. They would be much more useful with a wired/wireless option as I wanted to get up at times and stay on the call. Overall a good pair for work needs but not a pair that will replace personal and work.
