The Jawbone UP2 provides exactly what I need - activity tracking, ability to link to third-party apps, community opportunities for sharing information with family and medical professionals, easy controls. My only complaint is the claps easily comes undone. I fear I won't notice until it's too late one day.

I have had UP bands for the past 3 years and have loved them. When my last one puttered out I decided to try this new design. It measures my sleep and steps great, but after having it for about 3 weeks it doesn't want to stay clipped. The clasp keeps opening and my band falls off. Many times I've caught it before it was completely off but there have been times I've found it just laying in my bed or on my living room floor. I'm hoping they are able to fix this issue for the next versions. I may have to bring this back and look for something that I won't lose.

I originally purchase the UpMove because of the low price and great reviews on the app especially. The only problem was I couldn't keep the UpMove on my pocket. It kept falling off and I even lost it for a couple of days at one point.
The original Up24 was also flawed in design because it would hang on clothes and fall off. However, this design is MUCH better. While the clasp is a little tricky, it stays on and does a good job of tracking my activity. I also like the vibration reminders you can set.
I recommend the product itself, but the app is what puts it over the top from the other options out there.

This is much smaller than the Up24 Band and is much more like wearing a bracelet. The only complaint that I have is occasionally I accidentally switch it to sleep mode and out of it simply because of their new tap and press way to switch modes. Other than that I am loving as much as or more than my Up24.
I often forget it's there which is a big thing for me as I am on a computer and typing constantly for work and the Up24 was noticeable due to its bulk. It is very light weight and once I figured out the right spot to wear it, I don't have any problems with it snagging on things or coming undone without notice. (Yes, this can happen if you wear it on your wrist in the wrong place and rub against things with it sized wrong.)

I got this after having 9 UP24s break on me. The design is much better this time around, it is thinner, lighter, and easier to wear than all the other Up bands I have had. Thankfully, this time, they opted to put the electronics in a non-flexible part of the band so it doesn't break all the time. Very happy about that.
The only problem I have with the band is with the clasp, as many other people have said. Frankly, it's poorly designed. It is a hassle to learn how to put it on and take it off, it snags on things (and is sharp so watch out), and sometimes just falls off with the slightest pressure. The clasp isn't a deal breaker, but it sure is a pain at times.
I am very glad they updated the band now that you don't have to tap to switch modes because that was always hit or miss too. Now it auto-detects sleep and awake modes so you don't have to do anything else before bed.

I Purchased the Up2 a few weeks ago and already I'm seeing results in inches and pounds. Love the Coach feature, which provides tips, motivational facts, and ongoing summaries of my progress. It tells me how many times I've met my goal in the past week, the average number of steps I take. The unit interacts well with my iPhone 6Plus, And it tracks steps and sleep time automatically. And provides graphs such as deep sleep vs light sleep or active vs inactive. The battery will run for seven to nine days without a charge. I wear it constantly, except when it's time to charge it. I purchased mine on sale for $53. I would have paid twice that as it has really helped me get motivated.

this jamwone up2 is fantastic very easy to setup and use. the app i the best in the business.
i replaced my up24 and my wife replaced her fitbit.
i didn't need the heart rate monitor or the amex payment so up3 and 4 are not for me.
the sleep tracking is fantastic nobody can compete with that feature
the band being shower proof is good enough for me but i know some with they could swim with it

I picked the Up2 as an alternative to the Fit Bit to aid my wife in her quest to lose weight and increase her fitness level, and I'm very glad that I did. She loves all of its features, but she is most enamored of Up2's ability to be synced with the app. that she uses to track her daily caloric intake, as well as its ability to track the number of steps she takes on a daily basis along with keeping a watchful electronic eye on her sleep patterns. All in all, a great product at a great price!

I had an older model Jawbone that broke, and I got this one to replace it. The sleep and step tracking are both right on, but the real selling point for the product is the companion app, with the SmartCoach that adapts to and can help you improve your behavior, if you buy into it, the calorie counter that uses your device's camera, and the social functions that are integrated into everything these days. If you're looking for a straightforward activity tracker, I'd encourage at least looking at a Jawbone - you might find it does everything you need, and then some!

I've now had the up2 for around two months , I was looking for an activity tracker to keep track of my steps , weight and sleep . Below are my thoughts .
pros : the biggest advantage that the jawbone has over its competitors is the smartphone app, it is absolutely the best fitness trackers app , it doesn't just keep track but also coaches you and encourages you to do more , it can also keep track of your food intake and count calories for you , it gives you a score between 1 and 10 for each food item an encourages you to keep an average above 8 .
The step counting works great and is pretty accurate , I also use it to track my sleep and it has been doing a fine job of that .
The battery lasts an average of around 7 to 8 days and it charges pretty quickly .
Cons : so the biggest gripe I have with this thing is that while I am driving , it somehow counts steps and they really add up on long drives , I have search all over for this issue with the up2 and so far have not found any solutions .
The second issue is that on occasions the app loses sync with the up2 and the only way I can have it communicate with app again on my android phone is to completely shut the app off in the background and restart it .
Also the wrist clamp mechanism is sort of awkward at first but I have gotten use to it .
Summary :
Overall despite its flaws I think that the jawbone up2 is a recommended buy if you are okay living with it annoyances . As it has encouraged me to live a healthier lifestyle and also keeps my fitness and sleep goals in perspective for me .

I have tested every fitness tracking band currently available, at Best Buy. This is by far my favorite overall. Their app is currently the best I have tested. It interfaces everything really well, is extremely user friendly (Except if you have to delete a duplicate sleep entry...we had to look that one up.) The motivational coach, really drives you to do better each day, and the ability to see how you are doing compared to your friends is fantastic.
I had a Jawbone 24, which was already impressive. However, the Jawbone 2 is lighter, and highly adjustable, making it even more comfortable. The one feature I wish it had, is the interactive read out screen, that Garmin has. (Which I have to admit would be my favorite, purely because of that, except that their app is terrible.)
I have already convinced 7 other people, when they decided to look into fitness trackers, and hopefully, this helps your decision as well.

I purchased the Jawbone Up2 the other day and I love it. I love that it is so small and light. A few things I have noticed, it takes a few tries at waking up the band (with 2 taps) and it did not track my sleep last night even though I put it into sleep mode. It did track my sleep the first night so maybe it was just a fluke. Step tracking seems to be fairly accurate. It is not as hard as some people say to clasp the band.

An Improved Experience

I have purchased each iteration of the Jawbone Up band - all for my wife. She is really in love with the software experience - food, exercise, challenges, social, etc. Each band has been decent at tracking her movement, activity, and sleep - each release improving the experience.
Every iteration of the Up band seemed to have some sort of hardware deficiency. Whether it was the rubber deteriorating on the band, the battery losing it's ability to charge, or the charging port not working or becoming too recessed. The one thing I will say about this version is that it appears Jawbone has finally decided to go in another direction. It is a complete redesign, and I believe it was necessary.
New charging port. New material. New shape. New way to secure on wrist. Just an overall different approach, and it is welcome. The new charging port completely resolves one of the biggest issues of the former version: the recessed port. Because of the ability to adjust the fit, you can guarantee a more comfortable feel when wearing it. Welcome changes.
A couple of issues that need to be addressed (every iteration it seems - SMH). First, my wife's band has come off a couple of times in bed. This never happened on the previous version, which was claspless. Second, the device picked up clothing dye much easier than its predecessor. Not sure if that is something that we only experienced, but it was noticeable.
All in all I think this is a better, improved version.

I like the sleek style of this product, better general design than the up24, and its more water resistant... But the clasp to keep it closed/on your wrist sucks. It has just fallen off a few times while I was playing catch with a Frisbee. And has come close to falling off quite a few more times. I would just bypass this product and get the newer version.

My wife's UP24 recently crapped out and when I went in I was offered this one with a credit or pay extra for the UP3. At first my wife wasn't a huge fan but after the last update she began to like it. Since then the battery life is good and she's had very few issues other than the band getting unhooked on occasion and the charging is awkward especially if you are trying to use your laptop to charge the device.

I previously wore the Jawbone UP24 and liked the slip on bracelet, but it was just a bit bulky. When that one broke down, I replaced it with the newer UP2, which has a slimmer band. It's a bit quirky, as it is more sensitive and has a tendency to put itself to sleep if you shake your wrist just the right way. Other than that, it tracks sleep and steps with more sensitivity and detail than the UP24 did.

I bought the UP2 to replace my orginial UP so I could have the wireless syncing and better band design. Overall, the product is great. Tracks my steps fairly accurately and I like the new app.
The only improvements I would make are the band occasionally comes loose and the mode switching by tapping is normally either too insensitive, but I have accidentally put it into other modes by resting my arm somewhere. I'd also like to have the time my activity feature built into the band.
