Definitely not the best movie ever made but it’s absolutely a fun one. Growing up watching Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Strike Back I’ve always been a fan of Kevin Smith’s indie comedy universe and this doesn’t disappoint. I was lucky to see this in the theater back in October and glad to have added it to my collection. If you’re a Kevin Smith fan this is a must buy!!!!

Well it may of started with a heart attack but the result was a cameo filled film paying tribute to Kevin Smith's work. Now you won't be labeled at the guy who made Tusk.

evin Smith films in general can kind of be an acquired taste (Tusk, anyone? - and even Smith makes fun of that film in this one). I'd argue that the Jay and Silent Bob offerings are even more of a cult item within the larger "Askewniverse", and as such, this is a film made for a devoted but probably limited fan base. My hunch is that kind of fan will probably get at least some enjoyment out of this "reboot", even if some diehard aficionados may also find this kind of a hit and/or miss entry. Technical merits are generally solid for those considering purchase.
Minus 1 star due to Kevin Smith milking his heart attack for every ounce of sympathy.

Kevin Smith's latest movie is a big bag of fun especially for those who have followed Jay and Silent Bob on their journey from Clerks to Reboot. It follows the same general plot as Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, yet there are twists and turns that are just hilarious. I first saw this movie while they were touring it with the J&SB Reboot Roadshow and had a blast watching it. I needed to get a second viewing in on BR since a number of jokes were drowned out by the audience's laughter, but I'm sure I'll watch it much more than that.

If you're a fan of Kevin Smith's View Askew movies, then this is an easy recommendation; especially so if you liked Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which I did. Everyone involved looked like they were having fun. You'll appreciate this movie a lot more if you've seen Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Clerks 2.
Picture and audio quality are great, but keep in mind this movie had a tight budget. Extras are good, but I would have liked more of Kevin and Jay talking about coming back to these characters and looking back at the previous movies in context - That doesn't detract from what is here, though.

You're either a Kevin Smith, or have a Kevin Smith fan in your life if you are watching or purchasing this. I found it hysterical, full of callbacks, in-jokes, and easter eggs. I'm consistently amazed at the level of talent the director seems to get for very little in wages.
If you're a newcomer to Kevin Smith his humor is vulgar has many drug & geek references so take that as for your personal preferences. I actually found it to be a pretty heartwarming story of a father's love as did my wife but if you didn't like any of his previous films that isn't going to magically change for this one.

Kevin Smith has had some ups ("Red State") and downs ("Tusk", "Zombie Hosers") as of late so it was a great time to revisit the View Askewniverse that started with "Clerks" and lasted through "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back" and we last visited in "Cleks II". Perfect time and the two iconic stoners of the films are back older but not necessarily wiser. This was a lot more heartfelt than I expected it to be and it really felt like a homecoming. The film is filled with gags, cameos, references, and more. Just a terrific return. A fun film. Kevin Smith fans will get the most out of it. As always stay through the end credits!

I'm a big fan of the Kevin Smith movies - not that everyone is a complete winner - but I enjoy the characters. Unfortunately Jay and Silent Bob are getting a little older (as obviously are Jason & Kevin), so it's a little harder to buy into one more clueless adventure, BUT if you'd like one more romp with some old friends, in a movie that has a little more heart than many of the preceding films, I'd recommend checking this one out. Almost all the supporting characters are here too, so it makes it fun to see them all, plus some new ones.

I had read many reviews of this saying it was just an not funny re-write of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Being a big fan of their previous work I had to get it anyway and am glad I did. Yes there are many shared beats and scenes, but most of the jokes land perfectly. Matt Damon kills it in his lone scene, something completely new to this as he's playing Loki from Dogma again. I really enjoyed it despite not loving the plot point of Jay having a daughter he didn't know about. Definitely worth a look for fans of Smith and View Askew Universe.

I love this movie! I think this one is meant for the old View Askew Fans from day one. To me, it symbolizes how we are all grown now since the day Clerks was released, so as the years go by, we can still have fun, but not the same way we used to because most of us became parents or just older and now it is up to us to teach our younger ones how to love life with great laughs and we will be there to make sure they enjoy life while we continue with our humorous lives, just in a different way.
There are touching moments, but just like Kevin Smith, he makes sure the touching moments come with lots of laughs.
I highly recommend this movie for your collection!

If you are not sure what the difference is between a "reboot" and a "remake", don't fret, they will explain it...extensively! Now, I am in no way saying that I did not like the movie. It had its moments here and there, but I think that it missed the mark a little. It just seemed like they were trying a bit to hard to recapture the genius that was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Either way, I did enjoy the movie and it's definitely worth a watch.

I've been watching and getting high with Jay and Silent Bob for YEARS. I used to hang out in Asbury Park, so these flicks feel very comfortable. This one has more heart than previous flicks, BUT, many people WILL find the language offensive. As this version is based upon all the previous movies, you won't get "it" unless you have seen the prior ones. Watch "Clerks" and if you like it, move on to the others. The "boys" are looking old (but then, so am I) so unless they do "Grumpy Old Jay and Silent Bob," this will probably be their swan song.

Kevin Smith closes a chapter ? While there may be some sameness to the jokes, they are still funny. There is a real depth of emotion in this film. Kevin is probably one of the most honest people around and if you have ever seen one of his talking extravaganzas you would know that. This film is another road movie where he and Jay fall in to the right place at the right time. Lots of very familiar faces for those of you who have been in the View Askew universe for any time. If you are a fan you will love this movie, if not, you will not like this movie as a stand-alone movie.

Jay and Silent Bob return to Hollywood to stop a reboot of the 'Bluntman and Chronic' movie from getting made...
Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is a good movie, without any aspiration, but it certainly aims to be a parody of itself, but maybe in the most original way of the term. To sum it up, it's sarcasm at its finest. Very funny and with a veiled, important message. A worthy chapter in the View Askewniverse. Snoochy Boochies!

Jay and Silent Bob have been with us since 1993 in CLERKS. They've been in almost all of Kevin Smiths' films since and this Movie takes place over a decade and a half after Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. And I got to say they haven't Skipped a Beat. This movie is not only a hilarious sequel to the 1st film, but it brings back all the old favorites from all past films, but also some that were 'concieved' during the past. This is a must have for all you Kevin Smith Fans and for their collections After All, he is "THE Comic Genius"!!!

I saw this movie in theaters and boy was I worried. Who knew if Kevin Smith had lost his edge or if his humor had become too hokey in this day and age. I can happily report my worries didnt come true. Incredibly funny and fits wonderfully as a sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Jason Mews has come a long way and I gotta admit his big emotional moment in the movie got me a bit weepy. If you're a Kevin Smith fan, I be shocked if you were disappointed by this movie.

Short of Clerks 3 [Mall Rats 2?], this is the logical reboot for Kevin Smith. Jay and Silent Bob make me laugh and usually from Bob's expressions, but sometime Jay comes us with lines that make your head spin - so kudos to Kevin Smith for still being funny all these years later. Now, imagine these 2 finding out that the first movie about their super hero characters was being redone and they take off to derail it - so eerily similar to the first time. Ya...it's like that. Hang on!

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is truly just one big reunion for Kevin Smith’s films that featured Jay & Silent Bob.
So many people reprise their roles in funny and almost heart warming ways.
It’s really just one big homage to Smith’s filmography but it’s so fun.
A tad bit too ridiculous at times, but it ends up being redeemed by the next scene.
Really funny, man.

Kevin Smith is a favorite of mine and I love his early work. His podcast is still entertaining ever after all these years. Unfortunately he uses the same premise as the first jay and silent bob movie hoping for more comedy gold, but falls a tad short. Still worth getting to see the characters and the many, many cameos from old faves and newer friends.
