Got this for a decent price during Black Friday. You can pair this with another one for better surround sound. It's a great speaker to use on parties and family gatherings. Oh, it also comes with Google Assistant which is a nice addition to have especially if you are thinking about converting your house into a smart home.

The JBL Link 300 is a great sounding speaker with helpful assistant. The sound is very good. The audio is very clear and the bass isn't overdone. It will easily fill a medium-large room with sound. Using the Google Home app you will be able to set up apps and customize the speaker to your liking. So cool! The assistant is excellent too. While I prefer Alexa for a voice assistant, the Google assistant works very well. Only complaint is that at higher volumes the mics won't pick up your voice unless you shout. This speaker will work best if you subscribe to google play music but it will play from your Pandora or Spotify account as well. I personally subscribe to Apple music and this app isn't supported. Although, connecting to bluetooth and playing what you want solves this problem somewhat. Using the Google Home app, you can connect any smart home device you may have. I use a Nest thermostat and it works great. If you are looking for a great sounding speaker with a helpful assistant you should give this one a shot. I love this speaker!

Thanks for the review, we appreciate your feedback you provided to us.Since the Link 300 is a google voice assistant, you may use the mute button in substitute for the power button since it can't hear your commands while it's on mute. We're always looking for ways to improve so we'll make sure to submit your feedback to the right department. great sound, bluetooth delay

the good -sound quality - one of the better sounding speakers of its kind that i've heard. keep in mind though, it’s not portable in the sense that you can unplug it and take it outside - there is no battery, so if it’s not plugged in it doesn’t play. that being said, if you’re playing music from Google Play, it actually plays the stream directly via wifi, and sounds fantastic. bluetooth streaming sounds great as well in my testing. -design - attractive oval design, with a relatively large open sub port in the back (the giant JBL logo - i originally thought it was just a big plastic logo, but it’s the actual sub). -google assistant - depending on what your needs are, google home may or may not be a feature you’ll use. if you do, it is pretty handy and works great here. the bad -not portable - as i mentioned earlier, this is really just a speaker that is easy to relocate, as long as you have power…it’s not “portable” in that you can unplug it and move it around temporarily with ease. -bluetooth delay - i tried several different sources, and one was my Apple TV 4. there was a substantial delay, about a second or so, between onscreen and sound. from what i read, this can be fixed with a firmware update, but for now it’s all but unusable in that regard. -priced a bit high - at a msrp of $250, it’s priced maybe $50 too high, with respect to others in this category. on sale (as it currently is now) for $200 it’s priced a little more appropriately. overall great sound, nice design, google assistant, but the lagging bluetooth is frustrating if using with a video source.

I was very impressed with the sound quality and clarity of this speaker. Easily filling my living room and kitchen with crystal clear music. Add in the the built in google assistant and you have a great addition to anyone’s smart home. Better sound Quality than the google home with all the same features. And with ChromeCast it plays well with others. Meaning a lot of my other devices also use chromecast and can all be linked in groups to play the same thing. Also the google assistant works well with my SmartThing,Philips hue and nest. Making it easy to Control lights ,thermostat, door locks and all of your other connected devices. I also like the design/looks of the speaker sitting on the counter. If your looking to add voice controls to your smart home I would definitely recommend this product. I do wish it had a battery to make it more portable.

JBL Link 300 is an amazing product! It was such a fantastic item to use for the holidays and a joy to use with the family. The kids loved asking and using Google Assistant for Chrismas music. I'm just going to say right up front that I love this product and would recommend anyone who just wants a decent all in one smart speaker this is it! The Link 300 is beautifully designed, its one of the sleekest looking speakers I ever used on. I enjoy this speaker design much more than Google's home and it just fits in with the rest of my entertainment devices. JBL always craft such wonderful design in their speakers. Sound wise its a beast it not only gets loud but it maintains the bass throughout the room something I was shocked about when using. used both Android and iOS on the speaker and they both work just fine. The instructions are easy to connect so people who have a hard time with tech will be fine. The star of the show is Google's assistant on the speaker itself. You can press the Google button at the top and ask it any amount of questions. It is more human-like with the updates from last year speakers due to updates they been given. You don't have to be super spot on with asking it questions and the mic seems to pick up voices from a distance. This is the very reason to own a Link 300 outside of just having a Bluetooth speaker. Google Assistant worked flawlessly and this is the best Voice-activated speaker I've used. Link 300 has support for both 2.4/5GHz but all the time I had a better experience with 5GHz Wifi for some reason. 2.4 cuts out for me with this speaker and I can't put my finger on what the deal is but I'm going to blame my Wifi rather than the speaker itself. Chromecast Support is also here and works with all the music apps that support it, this way you don't even have to bother with a Bluetooth connection and its easy with a touch of a button. Youtube music and Spotify playback were awesome and no issues at all. You can also do Muti-Room support with other Chromecast Audio devices built in so you are not restricted to just buying a bunch of Link 300 speakers. I love the thing and its totally worth the money, There are a million speakers out there that don't do anything different, this one does and it proudly showcases that. JBL makes top-notch audio already and adding Google Assistant to their products makes them stand out. This is one speaker I truly love!

Like anyone, I was a little skeptical as to how well the JBL Link 300 would work. I figured that at the very least I’d be getting a decent Blue Tooth speaker. Taking the 300 out of the box revealed that the device is a decent size and means to remind you that you have a personal assistant that’s ready to help you. Setting up and linking the 300 to Google Home is easy. There isn’t any hand-holding for you to endure. I immediately started playing music through the 300 and I was impressed by the sound that came out of it. I listen to a lot of EDM (electric dance music) and various rock like Nine Inch Nails and the deep beats that came pouring out were exciting. It also serves as an immersive speaker if you’re streaming videos on your phone. It’s amazing and fun. But let me talk about the personal assistant. The 300 responded to my voice efficiently without having to repeat myself or it giving me an answer to a question that I didn’t ask. I asked about the weather, what the top news was etc. These are the kind of things that I found myself asking while playing on my phone, reading other articles that would lead me to inquire about a topic mentioned but this time I didn’t have to create a new browser page and type in the subject matter which in turn can lead to a rabbit hole of browsing to a point where I forgot what I was initially looking up. I think we’ve all been in that situation at one point or another. The JBL also came in handy for setting the timer for baking a pizza or a pie. I was making garlic chicken on the stove top and because I left my phone in the other room, I wasn’t able to physically set a timer but I asked the 300 to set a timer for several minutes and I didn’t have to second guess anything. What’s better was that the JBL 300 was in the other room and it still heard my timer request and I was able to hear the confirmation of it. I have a cat that loves to knock things over while I’m asleep at night and I was feared that she might have the 300 in her sights. The rubberized bottom of the 300 prevents any kind of sliding due to bumps against the table or the whim of a feline that feels the need to redecorate. I can’t wait to discover other reasons to engage Google Home via the JBL Link 300. The 300 simply makes things easier.

The Google Assistant features work great with this speaker. It picks up my voice without shouting even when music is playing. With the speaker only having one woofer and one tweeter I am very disappointed by the sound quality. Especially for it's size I was expecting a lot more.

I will start out by saying I have tried a lot of these smart speakers from the ones that use the google ecosystem as well as the Amazon ecosystem. My biggest complaint about every single one of them has been sound quality. They have mostly been very tinny. Lots of mids and very little low or high end. Then this speaker came into my life and changed it all! To start out, taking it out of the box and getting ti set up took a matter of minutes. Nobody should have any problems with that. Just download the google home app and turn on the speaker and they will easily find each other and get paired in no time! The design of the speaker isn't anything that will really stand out, its not flashy or anything like that. But I have yet to find one of these speakers that has a really cool looking design. Where most speakers are tall and slender, this one is short and fat...more on that later. It can connect through all of your standard Bluetooth devices, and it can also connect to your chrome cast. The cool thing about that is that it can stream very high quality audio from the cloud...much higher than the current Bluetooth spec will allow. So you can get crystal clear, awesome sounding audio! That brings me to the sound quality of this speaker. It is phenomenal! As i said before, every other smart speaker I have tried like this had been seriously lacking in the bass department. They had Ok bass at low volumes, but if you cranked it up it totally went away ad all you got was mids and the music sounded awful. As I was saying before with the short and fat design of this speaker it allows a larger woofer to be put into it so you get a much fuller bass sound...even at higher volumes. In fact the whole spectrum of high, mid, and low are very well balanced....if anything..it might be a little bass heavy. But that's a good thing in my opinion. One other thing I will mention is that a lot of other speakers have a hard time recognizing when you are trying to talk to them when music is playing or there is other audio in the room. I didn't find that with this speaker at all. It was able to hear me from across the room even with music playing. The name JBL has been a sign of quality good sounding audio devices for many, many years. This Bluetooth speaker is no exception. Its a very solidly built great sounding speaker. Well worth every penny!

Fullness of sound is how JBL should market this amazing speaker. It delivers the same level of performance that its high end JBL Extreme speakers delivers, but designed as a non-portable speaker that has applications that make it a home automation centerpiece with integration to the Google Assistant. While not flawless if you are a music lover you will really appreciate the deep bass, balanced mids, and crisp trebles that this speaker can deliver. I'm actually afraid to turn the speaker completely up because it's clear that this speaker can get very loud and can easily fill my whole home with sound. If you're looking to throw a party and want a speaker that can deliver and at the same time makes it easy to be a DJ because with Google Play Music makes it easy to keep playing music then this is a fantastic choice. It's power cable does have a power supply attached to it and as such it may be slightly difficult to find a place to have it tucked away. Voice recognition is spot on and easily recognizes various voices making it easy to ask it questions. Installation and setup is very straightforward with the Google Home app. I do wish that there were lights on the speaker that make it more easy to recognize when the speaker recognized your voice, but trust me...it did and you can just say what you need to. Overall the speaker is quite awesome and makes a good fit into any home.
