So I just received my new pair of JBL Stage2 260F Dual 6.25” Floor Standing Loudspeakers a little over a week ago and have been putting them through the paces. First off, you may need to get someone to help with setting these up because although they are extremely nice, they are pretty heavy as well. Though they come in 2 different colors: Espresso and Latte, I opted for the Espresso which is very sleek, and matches the rest of our aesthetic décor in our main living room. Opening the speakers up is pretty straightforward, and after unboxing them before connecting them to my receiver I was a little more impressed than I initially thought I’d be. They’re very sleek and blends in so well with the rest of my electronics in the living room. They also have a nice sturdy build quality about them which always draws me towards any JBL products. You’ll have to flip them upside down to attach the included platform base on the bottom with using the included screws and Allen wrench. You can then also screw in the included spikes on the bottom of the base as well, though it’s optional to install them. Once the platform and spikes were installed I sat the speakers upright and placed them where I wanted them to be and attached my banana plugs to the back of them and the other end to my JBL MA710 receiver and powered up the receiver. These speakers are will be added to my current home theatre setup. After powering up the JBL MA710 receiver with the newly installed JBL Stage2 260F speaker, I was blown away with the sound quality. I mean I’m no professional audio engineer, but it’s not rocket science to know when you hear amazing sound coming from your speakers. The clarity and bass sounded as if I was in my own private theatre. As I switched between the different surround sound modes everything was clear and nothing sounded muffled at all. It felt as though we were actually finally getting true surround sound. I loaded up one of my favorite high octane movies and it felt as though I was right in the middle of the action on-screen. To have the back surround speakers, you can actually hear the little things that you probably didn’t notice before. For me music was another area where these JBL speakers shined. Like, I could hear the different instruments and sounds in songs I don’t think I had heard before, as well as clearer lyrics. For the price and quality of these speakers, I highly recommend these speakers if you're in the market for some new speakers to add-on or replace other speakers in your setup. I promise you won't be disappointed. So far, there's nothing I can say about these speakers that I don't like.

This is my review for the --JBL-2X Stage2 260F Dual 6.25" Floor Standing Loudspeakers
We paired this with:
JBL- MA710 7.2ch AV Receiver w/Dolby Atmos
Items were packed very well, it took longer than expected to unpack everything- that is how good it was packed!
We had to buy the wiring for the speakers, as they did not come included with these speakers (which they should be).
We had to put the speakers together, they did not come fully assembled- which was fairly easy.
Speakers are powerfull, Smooth bass and clarity.
We set them up to watch movies and also listen to music on them.
They sound great and look great, I wish they were fully black though, the espresso color is not my favorite, but you cannot really tell unless you are standing over the speakers.
Also you can leave the little speaker screen on or off, I personally preferred to leave them on both speakers.
Other than set up issues, when we finally fixed those snags everything about the speakers are wonderful, sound is great!

It’s been a long time since I have had legit Floorstanding Loudspeakers. I had a pair of 15” 3 Way Cerwin Vegas about 25 years ago. Those speakers were awesome for some serious window rattling bass. Since then I have had a couple of nice surround systems as well as a couple of quality sound bars. Nothing I have ever had is close to these speakers in overall sound quality.
I think the best comment came from my girlfriend. Where I am living currently I can’t really set up a full surround system so this review is with only these speakers. We sat down and put on Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The movie is ok but she absolutely loves the opening sequence. About 30 seconds in she said, Dang! This sounds like I’m in a movie theater! It was hard to disagree; I was completely blown away by how amazing the sound was. The speakers sound great at louder volumes. The sound is crisp and clear and the bass, while not as ground shaking as my old Cerwin Vegas, just sounded incredible. At lower volumes however I think the bass is the best I have ever heard in a living room set up. I’m not sure what the best term to use here, but the bass is very….clean and tight. As we listened to different music and later watch Oppenheimer for the first time she finally agreed that yes, we did need these speakers in our lives.
All in all I am more than just impressed with these speakers. I was blown away. I can’t wait to get back to my own house in a few months where I can combine these with my projector, subwoofer and surround speakers and really get a true theatrical experience at home. I rate these speakers a strong 5 stars and If I knew someone looking for speakers in this price range I would absolutely recommend them to a friend. If I knew someone looking for speakers a little cheaper I would probably suggest waiting and saving up a little more, I just love these speakers!

Just a wee bit too shrill for my ears

I've tried quite a few speaker and my ears just don't like horn speakers. I keep going back because I think someone will make one for a person with my ears. I'm very sensitive to high pitched sounds, even at my old age they still bug me. Adelle's squeaks she makes in her songs drive me crazy - not and Adelle fan, my daughter is. I have to keep the higher end down.
My old towers only have one woofer and two passive radiators and they put out warm sound and decently deep base and mids. The JBL with double the woofers sound even better in the mids and lows. Almost so that I wouldn't need a sub if I could tone down the treble a way more. But I do like those extra deep rumbling base so my sub stays, lol. The balance between the horn and woofers is near perfect until someone on the screen or some music plays with that extra high pitch - like the squeaky long whine they make after someone is near an explosion and they mimic the ears ringing, I hate that effect. Even with regular tweeter speakers that sound is irritating, and with the 260F's it's excruciating. They're able to replicate too much sound, lol, or it could be the Class D MA710 driving the speakers that those higher tones to escape. I can't EQ it out enough.
I'm an unusual case because noone in the house besides me is bothered by it, not even my 18yr old daughter. The speaker sound incredible, my ears are just too sensitive to the high end. I love these speakers too much to put them aside for my warmer old towers so I'm going to have to find some kind of dampener help filter out the higher freq.

Impressive - and imposing - speakers

These JBL 260F floorstanding speakers aren't for the feint of heart - they're large and imposing speakers that take up a good amount of space in your room and even suggest using carpet "spikes" to secure them if you put them on a carpeted surface (the spikes are included and do improve the ability of the speaker to stay in one place - where you put them - though you want to make sure you like them in that position before you put holes in your carpet!) But they pay you back for the size / weight / etc. that they take up with truly GREAT sound. Are they right for you? Read on to find out. For reference, I'm testing two of these speakers (they're sold in packs of 1) with a JBL MA710 receiver both with and without supplemental speakers. They're in a fairly mid-sized family room theater setup in a basic room with carpet on the floor and standard drywall.
The first thing you notice when you get these speakers is just how BIG they are - and heavy as well, with the boxes weighing over 50lbs each. They include fairly clear directions on the top of each box for how to unbox them in the most straight-forward way (which is VERY helpful, I do wish other companies would do this type of thing with other products). Once you get them on to their stands (with or without the optional carpet spikes) and in position, you're ready to wire them up to the receiver and give them a test run. There's also a "grill" (fabric cover, really) for the fornt of each speaker that is held on magnetically and is easy to place / seems to stay in place well once installed. Note that I did not use the second set of posts which are for passthrough to "height" speakers. All in all, the setup is fairly easy considering how large and imposing the speakers are. Note that I say imposing mainly because of the size / weight - if you position the speakers correctly in a theater setup, they CAN be out of the way, and the design is basic enough (particularly with the magnetic grills in place) to blend into the background to some extent.
Once setup and the audio system is tuned, WOW, these are huge upgrade from my old bookshelf speakers. Audio is crisp and clear (you could hear a pin drop if were so as inclined - and had a video with sound of a pin dropping of course) from the 1" tweters and the dual 6.5" main speakers in each unit and boy can they get LOUD if you want them to (or soft, I suppose) with a physical PUNCH to them. Listening to a variety of music and video content to get a feel for them, I really didn't see anything they do poorly - highs are excellent, mid-range is solid (there's a special waveguide that helps highs and mids/crossovers which really does seem to do it's job) and even the lows/bass is good though not as good as a dedicated (and larger) subwoofer does - they do have a rear bass "port" that helps with reproduction on the lows. Of course, in an ideal world, you would pair these with at least a center and rear satellites (possible "heights" and rear satellites as well) and a subwoofer or two to complete the experience and get true positional audio for surround content, but these speakers alone can still pump out a great deal of wonderful / top notch sound.
In examining the speakers themselves, the claims of aluminum tweeters with a special waveguide and pulp (i.e., reinforced paper - like most high end speakers actually) 6.5" cones seem to be accurate. Everything appears to be very well made with the quality you'd expect from JBL / HARMAN, and they should last a good long time if used properly / cared for.
So if you're in the market for speakers that will really enhance your music listening or movie watching experience, look no further that these JBL 260Fs (unless maybe you want something even larger, then the 280s with the 8" dual cones might be an option). Give them a try today!

The JBL260F floor-standing speakers look great and come in either latte, or espresso and either look great. I got Espresso and it matches nicely with the entertainment center I use. The speakers are about 41" tall but only about 7" wide (12" with the base) so they fit nicely next to my existing tv/stereo unit.
Each speaker includes two 6.5" woofers and a 1" aluminum dome tweeter/horn. The woofers are set to different crossover points to create great sound. With a frequency response of 45-20,000hz they reproduce a full range of sound, and sound terrific. There are also dual rear ports which add depth to the sound. The cabinets look great without covers, but the magnetic grilles make them look even better.
I paired them with a JBL MA710 A/V receiver and ran them through several options for sound. With classic rock, they provide a nice even bass and crisp, clear highs. With classical music, I felt like I was in a concert hall. When set up as a 7.2 system (front, rear, center, subwoofer, and overhead surround) I was totally immersed in the sound while watching a movie in Dolby Surround.
The 260F speakers also have a pass-through connection allowing them to be paired with optional JBL240H speakers. As impressed as I am with these, I just might have to get the 240H as well!
These are terrific speakers that look great and sound even better.
