THIS IS THE FILM VERSION OF THE MUSICAL JERSEY BOYS. CLINT EASTWOOD DIRECTS A WONDERFULLY HUMAN STORY ABOUT THE RISE OF THE FOUR SEASONS FROM THEIR START IN LOCAL CLUBS TO TV AND RECORDING FAME. IT'S A GREAT PERIOD FILM FROM THE START UNTIL THEIR BREAK UP. GREAT MUSIC AND EXCELLENT PORTRAYALS OF FRANKIE VALLI AND THE GROUP.

Really enjoyed watching this movie. Have always liked any movies Clint Eastwood was involved with as an actor or director.

I really enjoyed this movie & it’s music story line.

Why do you buy Broadway Musicals on DVD? I'd guess that you want to capture the memories of music and performance long after the theater visit (or in lieu of the theater experience). You've already concluded that the actual stage presentation is not as important for you, because this is a translation into a movie presentation, absent the stage. So, is this successful? Many of the stage performers are present, so there is no lip-synching or odd Hollywood star substitutions. The music is all here. The story is fascinating. Eastwood's direction and the production are nicely accomplished if not bright and colorful. For those of us who lived the 50s-70s, this probably reflects our memories rather well. Music is recorded quite well and a quality home TV/theater system will sound up close and live. We liked the movie quite a bit and will reach for it again and again.

If a family member asks for Jersey Boys on video and they happen to have a Blu-Ray player, this is the perfect movie to get them. Not only is it a Blu-Ray, but it's the combo pack so it has an extra disc for their regular DVD player too. Would have been perfect if they sold a Blu-Ray combo-combo pack with a VHS copy to use in their machine as well. If the family member asked for The Jerky Boys movie, this is a terrible gift.

I grew up listening to frankie valli and the four seasons music and i can honestly say this is one hot movie of facts and entertainment for the whole family. I was singing along with the old hits and having fun. Felt a little sad for frankie's life story but the extras on the dvd made up for the sadness at the end. A must have movie for you music lovers and to bring back some old memories. My next can't wait dvd purchase is "Get on up" a story about another favorite singer of mine "James Brown" to be released in January 2015.

This film is well acted and well directed. The actors are remarkably talented and very believable in this biopic. And although the film is categorized in the "musical" genre, such characterization shouldn't deter non-musical watchers from seeing it. The music merely compliments the story and does not act as a replacement for dialog like other more traditional musicals. Great story, it's humorous, its dramatic and even tragic at times. And you might find yourself singing along to the fantastic music that is so well-known. However, I do wish the Bluray had more special features.

Another rare movie worth watching. Jersey Boys took me back in time. The movie plot is about Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons trials and tribulations climbing the ladder of fame, based on the Broadway play. Clint Eastwood is a great director. I'll watch this movie more than one time. I enjoyed it, though the songs went through my head well into the next day. The audio is cinema quality with a decent surround system. There is a very sad part of Frankie Valli's life in the movie, but it happened.

Like Ali, Ray, and Walk the Line, this is another story of how an icon in their industry had to pay their dues with personal strife and tribulation. The drama was well played throughout. The music was well performed and like the previous musician movies mentioned, the movie wasn't one music video after the other. Which brings me to this point..while there is music, three are lots of snips of them throughout. Over all the wife loved it, while I just enjoyed it (more than I thought I would).

Jersey Boys is a great Broadway show, but was a little afraid to buy the Blue Ray DVD after reading reviews from the theatrical release. But, I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The actors are right on track with their performances of Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons. Brought back a lot of good memories from the 1960's and early 1970's. I would be careful letting the kids watch it as the "f" bomb seems to be used a lot throughout the movie.

So, I had no desire to see Jersey Boys but wound up going to see it on Broadway during a business trip last year. Suffice it to say I enjoyed the show but was a bit apprehensive about the move having seen other shows shows butchered. The movie does not disappoint in the least and I'm glad I picked it up. Also picked up a copy for the girlfriend who is enjoying it as much as I am.

it tells the story of very famous musical group, their strogel in life to make it to the top, and the price their families paid while they were on tour. Those who were in their high teens and 20's in the 60'S will love this movie and will be able to associate with this movie, even my daughters who were born in 67 love in . The 60's it was when there were 100's of artist, and some people said it was the best music ever recorded. GREAT MOVIE

Movie depicts the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. From his humble beginning in Newark playing small night clubs to the Ed Sullivan show and swanky joints around the U.S.A, mister Eastwood did a nice job of adapting the Broadway show to the big screen. Frankie personal life is also woven into the story as well as his relationship with his band members, namely Tommy DeViito and Bob Gaudio. All the great songs are in there too.

I had heard so much about this story of the Four Seasons from friends that had seen it on Broadway. I was not disappointed with the film version. In fact I viewed it with a friend that saw it on Broadway and they were very impressed. I believe Clint Eastwood made an excellent decision to use the actors that had portrayed the Four Seasons on stage. John Lloyd Young was a fantastic Frankie Valli and Vincent Piazza did a great Tommy DeVito.
