Andre Benjamin did a credible job playing Jimi Hendrix. He should be commended for learning the nuances and mannerisms of the musician, including learning to plan the guitar upside down as Hendrix did (I had read Benjamin did not play the guitar before this role, but did take lessons as part of his prep). The movie was severely limited by not having access to Hendrix's music and I think this lead to a "just ok" script.

I am a big fan of Outkast and Andre 3000. He did a nice job playing Jimi Hendrix, though I do wish there was more of Hendrix's music in the film.

this movie was ok but if you're interested in film about past singers, i suggest going with the James brown movie that was just released on dvd

Unlike "The Doors", this movie is only about the earliy Jimi. Missing are all the songs you know and love. No Purple haze, no Woodstock,etc. This was not the Hendrix Bio film I've been waiting for. As a '60s set piece, it's OK. But rabid Jimi fans will not be impressed.

The story was decent but I wish it was more about the music than the relationships.

If you like Jimi Hendrix this Bio/Movie is deff. worth checking out i've been listening to Jimi for a long time love his music and it's nice to see the background about him where he came from and how he started out. Also Andre 3000 did a great role playing Jimi if you haven't checked it out don't sleep on it.

This movie presents a account of the early days of Jimi Hendrix's career.

Tells a good story about the rise of a superstar and his amazing skills.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting to see; but I do know it was more than what I saw. Maybe this movie was pumped up too much for me before hand. Much of the movie took place in London; and things I've read or seen about Jimi H. on documentaries, etc. were not covered. It just moved too slow for me and was not interesting enough to keep my attention, considering it was about someone I was always interested in knowing more about. Even the extras were slim considering this was based on a real person's life.

If your expecting to see the death of Jimi, this isn't the movie for you. This all about the rise of Jimi up to the Monterey film festival. A great performance by Andre 3000

Little choppy,not enough back story to how we got here. Or where we go forward. I thought Andre was great as Hendrix

I got the movie for my grandpa and he absolutely loves it! The shipping was wonderful and finding the movie online was quick and easy!

This movie was really hard to track down but I'm glad Best Buy had it! A must watch for Hendricks fans!

A great film! Will enjoy this one many more times! Wish they would have let them use the Hendrix music.
