Great budget entry
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great in-ear wireless headphone. Bought them on sale for Black Friday. I use them for hours each day while working and around the house projects. Battery life is a little less than quoted, but I usually only have one in at a time, so I swap earbuds and problem solved.

Poor quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only wanted to give them one star but I did two because you can use the left without the right. The sound when it worked was great for you but the other person couldn't hear me. They never stayed connected.

Good features, good battery, poor sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These ear buds are a mixed bag. I bought them to use for listening to music plus using for virtual meetings. I have a hard time hearing through my speakers and sometimes I need to be in a meeting and not let everyone around me hear it. They pair easily and once you get used to the controls, they work as designed. The "be aware" setting allows you to hear your surroundings with the ear buds in which is a good feature and it works well. The battery life is very good from what I see so far. What is really poor though is the sound quality for listening to music! I mean really poor! Even tweaking the EQ does not help. Bass is non-existent in these. Luckily I can return them and find something that has the same good features but sound better.

Posted .Hi there, you may find that the sound is better when you try different ear tips, give them a slight twist when placing in your ear, and switch between EQ settings. If this doesn't help, please reach out to our customer support team to assist you. -JLab Audio

Alot packed in
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are an EXCELLENT value for the price. I truly think that JLab nails these things. I truly enjoy using them as my daily drivers. Right out of the gate, the boxing experience. Now JLab does not have the same unboxing experience as a certain fruit company, but nor do they try to. They keep it simple. Personally, I absolutely LOVE the fact that they don't use plastic over everything. You may not have the satisfying peel but at least you can recycle everything. Inside, you will find the charging case, extra ear tips, and of course the guides. Inside the charging case, you will find the earbuds. Now wait, where's the charging cable? Design: The charging cable is built in to the charging case! I really like this idea. So many cables floating around in my house. Cables that have forgotten their original devices. With this, I don't have to worry about the clutter or forgetting about the cable. Now, with a built-in cable, I do worry about long-term durability. What if it get's damaged? How long I can go without messing it up will remain to be seen. However, you can charge wirelessly if it ever came down to it. The charging case is a lot bigger than other cases that I have seen, but I personally did not mind. The magnets work great. No problems with opening/closing the case, or keeping the earbuds in place. The earbuds themselves look great. They are not too bulky and super light which makes them very comfortable to wear. With the various earbuds, you can definitely find one that fits you. Personally, I liked the memory foam ones. It created a great seal while maintaining comfort. Function: Pairing was very easy and reliable. The earbuds have touch controls. Personally, I don't really use them that much. I think touch controls in general are finicky and easy to trigger unintentionally. However, I did think the Epic Air ANC were very well done. You can customize the taps to mean play/pause, volume, next track, ANC on/off, voice assistant, and EQ mode. Each earbud can have different tap functions and you can tap up to 3 times per earbud. You can use each bud separately. Just be aware that the tap functions remain the same. For example, if you set call answering and ending on the right earbud, you cannot answer/end calls with the left. If you wear both and take one off, it pauses the music. It resumes when you put them back on. This was very reliable and consistent. I enjoyed how automatic it was. It is water-resistant but NOT waterproof. It can handle sweat and rain but don't go swimming in them. Battery life: Awesome. Advertises 8 hours with ANC and 12 hours without. Definitely as advertised. If anything, they slightly exceeded these times. To be fair, I do not blast the volume as much as the average person, but I thought it was a fair assessment. I did not have to worry about losing a charge at all. The charging case has enough for 3 full charges. With everything fully charged, that's 32 hours of ANC and 48 without. Absolutely amazing. JLab says 15 minutes of charging equals an hour of use. Sound: Good. Not groundbreaking for sure. But very good balanced sound. Especially once you consider the price. Crisp highs. Full bass. Ok midrange. You can mess with the EQ if you'd like. They do have different modes. I didn't explore these too much. Now comes the weaknesses. I was disappointed with the ANC. The degree of noise cancellation was underwhelming. Other than the slight low frequency hums, it did not do much beyond the passive noise cancellation provided by the seal. Call quality was very disappointing as well. I know wireless earbuds just tend to be bad at this, but these were especially bad. The mic just isn't good at catching my voice. I would recommend using these to talk only in the quiet indoors. Pros: Built-in charging cable means less clutter and forgetting Wireless charging always a plus Water-resistant Battery life is class-leading Sound profile is good Value is one of the best Cons: ANC Mic All in all, you really cannot beat the value of these earbuds. JLab really doing some good stuff.

Great sound quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many sets of wireless earbuds over the years (my wife thinks I might have a problem...) and these JLab Epic Airs are well in the top tier. First, the hard case with built-in charging cable and Qi compatibility is top-notch. No more fumbling to find a proprietary charging cable or worse, being away from home and not being able to charge a set of dead headphones. There is no power adapter included and the cable itself is only a couple of inches long, but it is a very workable solution. Anyway, on to the real stuff. Flipping open the magnetically closed faux-leather lid (which has an opening so you can see the LED lights indicating state of charge of the case or headphones depending on which is charging) reveals the earbuds themselves. Pairing is about as simple as it gets. I'd highly recommend downloading the JLab app soon after that so you can customize your sound and change the tap controls for each earbud. (The standard ones are fine and are detailed n the instructions, but I prefer a little customization and JLab offers an easy way to do it through the app.) There are several (seven, I think) different eartips included in the box so finding a good fit shouldn't be a big deal. The pre-installed ones fit my ears perfectly, keeping the earbuds securely in my ear while maintaining a good level of comfort. The lower end sound reproduction on these easily rivals that of headphones costing twice or three times as much. I was absolutely amazed. While the extremes at the top and bottom of the range can get slightly muddy at high volumes, that's not really what these headphones were designed for. They aren't studio monitors after all.. The overall sound quality out of the box is above average, and with the multi-channel EQ in the app, it's really easy to tweak it to your liking. After messing with the levels for just a few minutes, I hit my sweet spot and would rate the sound quality as far above average. While I'm not ususally a huge fan of ANC, JLab doesn't overdo it here so I don't feel like there is just a lot of white noise hissing in the background like with other manufacturers. The effect, while perhaps understated, is about right for me. Not sure it would be the greatest on a noisy plane or train, in most situations it should be fine. The "Be Aware" mode lets in more outside sounds so you can, in fact, be aware of what is happening around you. I've found that helpful while walking the neighborhood and even when doing chores around the house so you can know if someone is calling your name. All in all, the JLab Epic Airs have become my go-to true wireless earbuds, relegating some of my more expensive ones to the bedside drawer, possibly not to be seen again for a long time.

Not impressive
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok earbuds if you get them to seat properly. The sound isn't nearly as good but I can't complain too much since it's only $99. They do provide decent sound isolation. The app is not impressive and buggy. I would get these if they went on sale only.

Nice earbuds for a great price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this during one of the "special of the day" advertisings. Got a great price for a very good set of wireless earbuds. Some of the review said they were not easy to use. However I find them very intuitive and hassle free.

A very nice set of earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are my first JLab earbuds. They add to my cache of other earbuds I have from a wide variety of vendors. They all have pluses and minuses, including the JLab buds. Between these buds and its accompanying charging case, these buds come with 48+ hours of play time. This is better than any buds I own. Forty-eight hours assumes that you’re not using Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), however. Using ANC reduces total listening time to around 32+ hours – which is still pretty outstanding in my book. An accompanying app, which you can download from the Google’s Play Store or Apple’s, is important to getting the best use out of these buds. The app has a number of usable features, including one that lets you customize how you interact with the buds. So, if you prefer to dbl-tap on your buds to pause the music (the JLAB buds pause with a single-tap), use the app to change it to suit your preferences. For example, here are the out-of-the-box commands for these buds: Left Bud • [Single tap – Volume Down] • [Double tap – Activate Siri or Ok Google] • [Press + hold 1+ second – Toggle through the ANC options] • [Triple tap – Equalizer change] Right Bud • [Single tap – Volume up] • [Double tap – Play/Pause] • [Press + hold 1+ second – Track Forward • [Triple tap – Equalizer change] Phone calls (Left or Right buds] • [Single tap – Answer call] • [Double tap – Hang up] • [Double tap and hold – Reject incoming call] Toggle between Music Mode and Movie Mode • [Press and hold both buds simultaneously for 3+ seconds] Power off without charging case • [Turn off your Bluetooth from your device (phone, etc). Doing so will cause the buds to power off after 3 minutes]. Normally you would power down the buds by placing them back into the charging case. The app allows you to customize these tap and tap+hold options. So, if you want to Pause/Play by single tapping, the app lets you specify whether a single tap to the right bud, or left bud, or both the right and left buds will perform this task. Or you could get crazy and have a ‘single tap’ to the left bud initiate a pause/play action, while a ‘triple tap’ to the right bud does the same thing. I’m not suggesting this but it is possible. The app also has 4 pre-defined equalizer settings that can be customized to your liking. But if after making changes to these settings you decide the original configuration was best, just press the Reset button to reset the 4 pre-defined equalizer settings to their factory defaults. The charging case accompanying the buds is different from other manufacturers and a bit bulkier. Even so, I’ve come to like it. Stick it in your pocket and it will be prominently displayed. The case has two slots for the buds to sit, and magnets keep the buds from falling out. When the top of the case is closed, three LEDs are evident. One for each bud, and one for the charging case. When the buds are fully charged, the LEDs above each bud is illuminated. The third LED is illuminated when the charging case is fully charged. The charging case has an attached male USB cable that is plugged into a USB charger, which is not included. This is unique and nicely thought out as it prevents you from losing the USB charging cable. That said, almost every device I own is outfitted with a USB-C port instead, and I would have been happier with that. Among the many features these buds support is Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). Tap the left bud three times and noise cancelling toggles from Off, to BeAware, to ANC On. Off turns ANC off entirely. The BeAware mode lets in ambient sound so you can hear your surroundings. For me, this is important for when I’m out jogging. In my testing, ANC worked best when matched with the larger ear tips. The bigger the tip, the better the noise cancelling. The smaller the tip, then more ambient noise seems to slip in even with ANC turned on. For me, I found that music fidelity was immeasurably improved with the larger tips. The smaller tips simply sounded too tinny. With larger tips on, the music was crisp and wide-ranging and with a nice bass. I ran into an odd problem while testing these buds. I paired the buds to both my Pixel 3XL and to my Samsung S20 Ultra, and installed the app on both phones. The app worked perfectly on my Samsung but failed to work at all on my Pixel. This problem continued on my Pixel even after a few uninstalls and reinstalls. Even without the app working on the Pixel, the earbuds worked fine, I just couldn’t configure them to my liking. For full disclosure, I did run into a problem finding tips for the buds that fit me well. After just 20 minutes, and irrespective of which tips I had installed, my ears were aching. The smallest of the tips were less onerous, but the music quality suffered and ANC was close to non-existent. Also for full disclosure, I’ve had problem with other manufacturers’ ear tips as well, so this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this. That said, I have to give these buds high marks. I think the music quality is very good, configuration options are top-notch, and the price, seriously, is outstanding. And, they look good.
