The headphones are a pleasure to use. The only reason for the 4 star rating is the audio quality. It is good but not stellar. I know this because I listen to certain songs hundreds of times on repeat and I know I am expecting to hear certain nuances in the song, either nuanced bass or nuanced treble, and I just don’t hear it with these JLAB headphones. That is not to say the audio quality is poor it is just not going to ever be as good as over-the-ear headphones (like my Bose), or $200-300 buds (the JLAB ones are $90). Everything else with these headphones are great. Been using them for over a week. I hate wearing buds, but they are super comfortable to wear thanks to the included bud replacement choices provided in the package. There is one set that works with my small earholes. The ANC is really good, not awesome, but really good (awesome is reserved for the Bose best-in-the-business QC15/QC25/QC35, which I do have to compare). For those who like to be out and about, the “Be aware” low ANC setting is nice to be able to hear ambient noise more clear. I have a white noise machine in my bed room and the low setting is barely much ANC above no-ANC, where as the highest level ANC almost completely washes away the white noise. I will say that getting accustomed with the controls is a bit of a challenge. Tip: read the directions first! You should know that that the ANC cycles from high to low, not low to high. When you first turn it on it’ll be on high and subsequent button pushes decreases it before cycling back to high. When turning on the unit you are greeted with a nice greeting and a battery indicator. The nicest touch of these headphones is the relaxed state. When you take them off and drop the buds they connect due the ends being magnetized. As a result these headphones will never fall out, and you will look really cool. The battery lasts quite a long time. It is a REALLY nice touch for them to include a MicroUSB to 3.5 mm cable if you don’t want to use Bluetooth. My android phone while on Bluetooth shows me the battery level, also a very nice touch. Would I recommend? Depends. If you are looking for workout headphones with an 8 out of 10 rating on ANC (I’d rate Bose’s ANC 10/10 any day) where audio quality is not suuuuuper important, sure I’d give it my recommendation. If you must have good audio quality with the ANC, then no, I don’t.

These earbuds are pretty impressive! Overall I would definitely recommend them to a friend. What I do not like about them is the heavy piece that sits on your neck. I would rather it be sturdy and shaped to sit on your neck, rather than it being rubbery and bendable. I would prefer it to stay strait on my neck. I personally think the sound quality is lacking a bit for my taste, but overall quality compared to price point I think it is adequate.
These earbuds have quite a few interesting and helpful features.
-First of all, the battery life is very impressive. The box says 14+ hours with active noise cancelling and 25+ for regular Bluetooth use and I find this claim to be accurate. I've been using them on and off for at least a week and they haven't died yet.
-I like how you can adjust 2 levels of noise cancelling and even turn it off completely. Very helpful if you're walking outside in the city and need/prefer to be able to hear traffic and be aware of your surroundings
-They can be used as Bluetooth or wired which I also found very helpful in case you forget to charge your earbuds or are on a flight and don't want to use Bluetooth
-They can be used to take and make phone calls and the audio quality on both ends is great. I had no issues using this feature
-Buttons are responsive on the inline remote
-Packaging says they are sweat and dust proof- I have not been able to test this
-The inline remote controls your music and is also used to take an incoming phone call, no need to take out your phone
-There are quite a few different silicone earbud options in the pack, but most of them are size M
- I did not have any issues with the earbuds falling out while doing tasks such as walking, washing dishes, vacuuming, grocery shopping etc. The variety of sizes available allowed for me to find a set that fit well. The package comes with many more options than most earbuds I've used
-The buds are magnetic so when not in use, you can stick them together to help eliminate tangling
-Pairing was simple and I did not have any issues with reconnecting subsequent times
Overall great product. The only thing I did not care for were the part that sits on your neck. Price point and quality are fair.
I would recommend these as an everyday earbud. I would not recommend them to someone who needs/enjoys premium sound quality.

Came with a nice padded, zipper closure pouch.
The flanged ear tips took me a few minutes to figure out and once inserted correctly they do not move. The earphones have a comfortable and flexible neck piece.
Paired easy to my Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown.
Sound is clear and clean, good distinguishable highs, mids, and lows.
ANC is good, while not the quality of the ANC found in high end headphones/earphones it is still very acceptable. Hold the ANC button for 2 second to activate or deactivate the ANC.
1 quick press of the ANC button to cycle through the 3 ranges of noise canceling with each single press, to reach your desired noise canceling depth. The cycles are, according to the manual, CYCLE LOW ANC / HIGH ANC / BE AWARE. I did not find a distinguishable difference between the HIGH ANC and the BE AWARE. I was assuming the BE AWARE was the highest ANC setting and the BE AWARE meant you would hear little to no ambient sounds.
Controlling volume, tracks; both backwards and forwards, answering or rejecting phone calls, or activating SIRI and “OK Google” are generally the same as most controls on earphones with an inline control module.
Long battery life.
For some reason I could not get the “OK Google” to work.
For the price and good sound, I would recommend these earphones.

Excellent Performance - Solid Noise Cancelling

The JLab Epic ANC Wireless earbuds are good for everyday listening with impressive noise cancellation.
Setup was simple and straight forward. With Bluetooth 5, the earbuds have an excellent range of over 50 feet.
The overall audio quality is quite good with only a few minor setbacks. Instrument separation is good and can be made better with a few tweaks. Communications are excellent and the microphone quality is particularly good. Gamers beware, when I tried to game on these earbuds, certain sounds were way too loud to the point of clipping. This is especially prevalent in fps games. The only way to fix this problem is with third-party EQ software.
Active noise cancellation works very well with extraordinarily little of the “pressure” feeling on your ears. Audio passthrough is also noticeably clear. ANC does not completely block out sound, as some understandably leaks through.
Earbuds fit snugly and comfortably with optional “cush fins” and “cloud foam” eartips. Included is a USB to micro USB charging cable and an aux cable if the battery runs out. Included travel case is simple yet well built. In-line remote works quite well and gives you all the necessary media controls.
Battery life:
- 14 hours playtime Bluetooth and ANC
- 25 hours playtime Bluetooth without ANC
- 50 hours ANC only
Overall, the JLab Epic ANC Wireless earbuds hold their own with good sound quality and noise cancellation which will not break the bank.

In the box is the headphones, a charging cable, extra buds, an instruction manual and an additional cable to plug the headphones to the phone.
The JLAB EPIC ANC WIRELESS headphones are an exceptional product hidden behind the appearance of the average wrap around headphones. They meet and exceed many expectations upon first opening the box. Pairing is simple, as it follows the universal control of a central button to hold until the power indicator flashes so that you may connect the headphones to your phone; however in addition to the main power buttons and volume/skip buttons there is a fourth control that is the reason they call the earbuds EPIC ANC. When held, it activates an ambient noise control function, that in which strength’s can be controlled. Sounds complicated, but in short it simply means you can choose how much background noise you want to hear. It has three settings; Aware, which makes it so you can hear your surroundings; Low ANC, which cuts out soft sounds like the hum of a desk fan or hum of a vehicle; and last but most certainly not least— High ANC, this setting cuts out most sounds. An example being, at approximately fifty percent volume the music playing through the headphones was louder than that in which was playing in a car. Now, with the noice canceling active, it does cut down the headphones battery life by nearly half; however, you still get over 15 hours of playback.
The headphones come with a wired capability should the battery die and you have no access to power to charge them. But like most wireless headphones that have this option, it comes with some drawbacks. Fortunately, there is no drawback to the sound quality; but the ANC function and microphone, may it be for calls or whatever virtual assistant on your phone, are disabled. So using the headphones wired does put you at a slight disadvantage, though with their long lasting battery life this shouldn’t be too much of a problem unless you don’t charge them for longer than two or three days depending on how many consecutive hours you leave them playing.
Overall, I really enjoy these headphones, mainly for the battery and the noise cancellation is an added perk.
Would I purchase again? Absolutely. Would I recommend to friends and family? Yes, and to my coworkers; as well as any parent with children that enjoy loud music. (No music blaring on young ears, and no more hearing sounds outside of the headphones.)
