Honestly, the idea is great, but they sound very cheap, I think if they spent some money hiring some sound engineers to construct quality drivers they would be in much better shape.

They play sure, but they did not effectively cut out background noise. The band that holds the buds together was uncomfortable. For the price point I was unhappy and returned them.

I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review. Summary - JLab might not be a brand you automatically associate with high-end headphones, but these Epic ANC Earbuds might change hearts and minds when it comes to a good value proposition. Clear sound all around including very deep and tight, punchy bass really set these apart from other earbuds I've used in this price range, both wired and wireless. The drivers themselves take a design cue from in-ear monitors, and I found them comfortable after an hour of wearing them. The noise cancelling tech is also powerful enough to cancel most of the sound out from from a running HVAC blower while you're listening to classical music, an impressive feat at any price point. These are worth the price over similar options from other manufacturers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- First impressions - The packaging for the Epic ANC Earbuds is what immediately makes this earbud set feel like a premium product. You'll find the Epic with the medium-sized soft ear inserts already installed, along with small and large soft ear inserts and medium-sized hard foam in-ear inserts. Also included in the package are a microUSB charge cable, a 3.5mm to microUSB cable that allows for unpowered listening with devices that have headphone outputs, and instructions for how to use and pair the headphones and use the active noise cancelling functionality. The only disappointment I have here is the lack of USB-C charging, but the sacrifice needed to be made to enable the analog headphone input. Pairing is super simple, like it should be with any Bluetooth headphone. Hold down the multi-function button until the indicator flashes red and blue, then find the headphones with your phone, tablet, computer, or other device and you're done. The buttons are super easy to find without looking and are located on the left side of the neck band. Even the smallish button for ANC activation and settings is tactile enough to find without needing to take the earbuds off to look. Battery life is terrific so far. I've listened to them for 2 hours and my iPhone reports that the battery left is around 90%. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The active noise cancellation works well. I spent time in my basement with the HVAC blower on, using the Epics paired over Bluetooth to a Windows 10 computer. Music over iTunes sounded like I expected, with a little distortion when turned all the way up. Videos on YouTube all sounded terrific. With ANC on high, I could barely hear the blower; on low, I could tell it was on but it wasn't like sitting there with ANC off and the earbuds in. There's also an "Aware" mode that would be terrific for runners who like earbuds and want to hear their surroundings; Aware mode passes audio from the ANC microphones into the earbuds themselves and slightly amplifies it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now for the other reason you're here - sound quality. I've built a diverse collection of headphones and earbuds over the years from many different manufacturers, including other JLab. Some of these earbuds and headphones are from the low-end and I only keep them around because if they get damaged while doing yard work or working out, I won't be upset; others are premium brands with premium audio quality, both wired and bluetooth, that are priced well into the hundreds of dollars. While the JLab Epic ANCs aren't as good as my favorite high-end headphones and earbuds/IEMs, they're definitely better than their price tag suggests. Even without active noise cancelling, I'd recommend them for those who want a great listening experience at all volume levels. The IEM-like design of the Epics lends itself to providing quality audio. They have larger drivers because of the design, which allows them to be more capable than other earbuds utilizing smaller drivers that you'd typically find at this price range. You'll get surprisingly deep bass, but also crystal-clear highs and midranges that don't get muddy. Classical music sounds like you were in the auditorium it was recorded in. Big Band Jazz is very punchy, be it older recordings from the golden era of the genre or modern recordings. The crunchy, distorted guitars in most forms of rock music sound like you're sitting in front of the artist's amp and not listening through sub-$100 earbuds. Hip hop music with its punchy bass drums and deep bass lines? Turn it up loud enough and you'll hear sub-bass that you may have missed with other headphones. Even background noise that would normally annoy me in studio and live recordings isn't that bad through these earbuds. Using iPhone and Bluetooth, I didn't notice any difference between Apple Music's high quality setting and ALAC files I loaded on my phone. Using an external DAC and the analog audio cable, I did notice a difference between ALAC/FLAC/24-bit 96KHz WAV files and AAC/MP3 files encoded at 320kbps, though not as dramatic as I hoped for. Still, for the price point of these headphones, they're great. (bad pun alert) In short, for the price, the audio quality is...Epic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- And in closing, these are great headphones for the price, loaded with features and oozing with quality. JLab is a company that puts quality and price before marketing, unlike others, and with the Epic ANC Earbuds, they have a winner. The only shortcoming is the lack of USB-C (after all, it is 2020 guys), but otherwise these earbuds are absolutely great.

Severe battery issues. Worked 1 weeks at 25 hours playtime. Slowly looses power and will not hold a charge. After giving them 2 chances I wanted my money back and they refused to give me my cash back even after only 1 month. This was the store in Millbury. Worcester always gave the option to get cash back that was the beauty of the extended warranty.

When you are considering buying headphones the main reason why you buy them is the sound quality. These JLAB headphones will not disappoint when it comes to the sound quality especially when considering the price. To make them even better they come with many extras. I will start with the playtime. If you just do straight up Bluetooth playtime you can get up to 25 hours! Once you start using the noise-canceling options the playtime drops down to 15 hours, which is still not bad. Speaking of the noise-canceling option, it can be used in 3 modes. You control how much outside sound you want to let in. The highest level allows very little outside noise, then there is a medium and a very low level which allows quite a bit more ambient sound to be audible. The earbuds can be interchanged and they come in 3 tip sizes and 1 cloud foam tip. Another extra bonus is that even if you forgot to charge your headphones you can still use them because they throw in a 3.5 mm adaptor that you can plug in your phone. If you want to take them on your next trip, then you can place the headphones and your accessories in a nice little travel bag which JLAB also provides for you. Overall, you can't beat the sound quality and extra options these JLAB headphones provide. If you are in the market for some reasonably priced headphones, you need to check these out.

    Good Noise Canceling Buds

Overall, these wireless in-ear buds provide pretty good sound quality and very good noise canceling ability for the price. Below I will go over Pros and Cons. PROS: - Easy to pair and set up - Sound quality is a 7/10 in my books, I feel the mids are a tad muddy and could be more crisp, but then again, I am not shocked considering the price tag - Noise canceling: These do a great job at noise canceling, when set to the highest setting, I couldn't even hear myself clap in a room. It has 3 settings so you can choose how much noise canceling you want. Cons: - Comfort: I wouldn't say these are incredibly uncomfortable, but the design kind of makes it so it rubs up against your ear and the provided cushions are not the best. Perhaps better cushions would help, but I find my ear to be a tiny bit sore after wearing them for an hour (working out) and I have had others that do not do this. I believe it's because of the piece that goes in that shields from outside sound that does this. Noise Canceling: I know I said its good, but what REALLY irks me is that when you press the button for noise canceling, it does not tell you what setting you are on, nor does it even beep to let you know you changed the noise canceling setting. This is really frustrating because I would like to know what mode of noise canceling I am on without having to guess. Also, you should really burn in these things for 20-40 hours to get a good understanding of the sound quality. When I first listened to them, I was unimpressed, but over time with the burn in, the quality got better.
