I got two of my kids each a set for remote learning, and gaming, and neither of the microphones worked. Good sound on the headphone part, so if the microphone is not important, they are OK. I returned both sets for credit and will spend a little more money on something else.

I got this headset for my 5 year old since he's doing remote learning for the first part of the year. This is an excellent headset for the price with easy to use options -- the 5 year old can do it himself. It's also nice for his tablet in the car on long road trips for watching movies -- no cords to get tangled.

The money is in the electronics

These are some nice headphones! They aren’t exactly professional looking, but if you want on-ear headphones with a built in microphone for calls/video conferencing, these are actually quite nice. The materials used are fairly cheap, which isn’t unexpected for $50 headphones. The ear-pads are comfortable, though I’d prefer they didn’t have a graphic print. That being said, you can’t really see the print on a video-call, so it isn’t a big deal. The money for these headphones is actually in the electronics. The battery lasts about 20 hours per charge, so their estimates are fairly accurate. The microphone retracts when you aren’t using it, so you don’t have to always have it in front of your face. The Bluetooth connection is solid. I’ve had other headphones (mostly from Skullcandy) which get very spotty when moving around outside or when I fire up the microwave. These stay solidly connected. Also, the microphone arm is a tube-style reminiscent of early earpieces for cell phones from 20 years ago. While not modern, it is effective and I haven’t had any complaints about sound quality on the other end of calls. Having a dedicated mute-button on the ear-cup is also nice, though you can end up being triple-muted on a conference call if you’re not careful!

My son loves this headset. He's 5 and it fits him perfectly. If only Nintendo allowed voice chat/mic capabilities this would have been the perfect headset for kids and their Switchs. But it works great when he's gaming on his iPad!

Ear pieces is way smaller than advertised. Didn't fit my kid's head. Either my kid has a big head or these headphones run really small. No buy for big heads.

Easy to set up and easy to use. These are definitely designed for younger students and gamers. The mute button is in the side and feels a little clunky, but overall it’s a pretty good headset.

Great headset for K-2nd graders going remote...

I got this headset for my 1st grader who will be doing school remotely this fall. The headset itself is well-enough constructed, but don't expect gaming headset levels of build quality here. Its mostly vinyl covering over foam on the earpads and headband, with some hard plastics on the headband ends and caps over the drivers/earpieces. The plastics used are strong but seem very basic. The headset folds up nicely for storage but uses TWO cables for charging (for wireless use) and for wired use (a separate MicroUSB>3.5mm cable). The use of MicroUSB here is expected, but disappointing as even cheaper headphones from competitors are starting to use USB-Type-C as a standard, which makes for much better universal connectivity and charging ubiquity The headphones fit my first grader perfectly and she's got room to grow into them. The audio quality is excellent and the volume control is perfect - Although I wish it would allow to get just a LITTLE BIT louder as in noisy situations she struggled to hear it clearly and stay focused, even with the volume maxed out in the application and on the laptop, the audio was VERY quiet when I had a listen. Wireless use is great. Sound quality is virtually indistinguishable from wired, good midtones, but my expectations around bass were limited anyway due to the volume restrictions (not a bad thing at all!). The wireless endurance is very good. My daughter used these for 2 3-4 hour days without running them down, then I charged them up again just to avoid her getting disconnected in the middle of school work. Thats plenty of power in my book and there's room to run them down further! The built-in boom mic is my favorite part of these headphones. Its the best design I've ever seen for kids who fidget with it. When its not needed (most of their online learning is just audio immersion, with interaction/microphone only needed during teacher meetings/class gatherings online) - The boom mic being able to stow completely away in the headset turning them into normal looking headphones is HUGE. I love the way that works. My only concern is the MicroUSB port that will likely wear out as its used for both analog audio and charging connection, and the wire frame for the headband and earpieces and how it SNAPS into place to hold the headset open for use. I fear these will be failure points at the hinges or the plastic clips/frame will wear down prematurely, but JLAB seems to build durable kid products so only time will tell.
