These JLab Audio - JBuddies are PERFECT for the kids. Thank you JLab for making something that my kids LOVE while protecting their hearing. These are now the only headsets I will be using for the children. First off they are built well. They should stand up to the day to day use and abuse they are sure to suffer at the hands of my kids. Very sturdy. The mic is retractable which I think will help to keep it from breaking off. They love the look too - very stylish. Most importantly to me they just work, and work well while protecting the kids hearing. They max out at 85 decibels which is great. We use them with the Switch, and setup was a breeze. You can use wired or wireless, and the estimated 22 hours of wireless battery life seems to be right. Overall I love that the product works well, is easy to use, and most importantly is suited to children. Thank you JLab. These are the only headsets we will be using for our kids from now on!

    The perfect kid-friendly headphones

y son loves these headphones! He thinks they're cool because they are wireless, and he loves the gamer motif. He also has told me that he likes how the block out outside noise. They are sold as gaming headphones, but in this day and age they're also great for taking Zoom classes online, which he has done with great success (sound and mic both work great). I like them because they have a built-in volume limiter that keeps sounds quiet enough to protect his ears, unlike adult headphones, and they fit him really well (larger than average 8 year old). They paired super easy with both our samsung TV he plays video games on and with his ipad. The battery lasts at least two days of pandemic indoor activities inbetween trips to the USB charger. I'm not sure how many devices you can sync at a time.

My son who is 9 years old tried these and he loves using them while playing on his Nintendo switch. I tested them out also and they are pretty soft and comfy for headphones that do not go around the ear. You can hear clearly through the headphones and the mic works way better than our older headsets. I love how you can store the mic back in its little compartment and easily pull it out when you need to use it. My son can wear it for hours and never complain about it hurting his ears. Very easy to connect and get started. I would def recommend these for kids.

It says 6+ but as an adult male with a medium sized head… they barely fit. But I'm not exactly the target audience. Now for my kids these are fantastic in my mind. There are a few features that could be better but overall I like them. The main features first, the audio is good, not amazing, but quite satisfactory for the price and for the target range as well, I don't see the need to turn my 4 year old into an audiophile and he doesn’t need to thump the house with some good bass. The mic has good quality, is retractable, and flexible. The flexible part makes it a little difficult to retract however, learning from experience I've found that boom mics or antennas that have some kind of hinge and are firm tend to break around kids (not the fault of the product). The mute button functions nicely and has a clicky feeling to it so you know you hit it, downside is unless you have a mirror or take off your headset you can't see the light that also lights up when the mute is on (not that this can really be helped with a wireless headset). The design is fun and my kids actually wanted to keep it on and if you are trying to decide between wired and wireless just think about how much you love cords. Flying isn't exactly an option right now but back when I we did, all of the wired things tended to end up in rats nests and I was usually the one trying to detangle. So wireless is a winner every time in our house. Though it can be wired if necessary. The cords are nice and not exactly easy to tangle as well. The volume on the headset controls the phone and headset simultaneously but the volume on the cord is independent and a wheel which makes it super easy for 4 year old to control. One more thing about the volume is it is limited, I was able to hear clearly and it was nice but it didn't blow out my ear drums (which they advertise). So a few interesting things, in the box the directions said it is compatible with PC/MAC and to use the cord for Mobile/Console… it is compatible with anything that supports Bluetooth, on android it had full functionality including the "okay google" feature it also says it supports on the box. It also talks about an app in the directions. It is to "burn in" the headphones, and honestly that really isn't required as your headphones will be burned in eventually and I don't think an audiophile will be purchasing these, but if so there is that option. The one main feature that annoyed me is the micro USB, USB C isn't that new at this point and most things should be moving that way, something new and on the go should be using USB C to charge; granted if you have a tablet that has the micro USB charging port then you might really appreciate the micro USB. So if your looking for some good kids headphones for on the go or just around the house during the school year if you have a few people trying to all work and in closer proximity to each other at home this year I can easily recommend theses. Pros: Good Mic (Retractable, flexible) Decent sound Wired option Mute button Wireless Fun Design Cons: Micro USB No wall wart, you'll need to provide your own.

Thought this would be great for my kids who recently started playing games on our PlayStation, and it fits the bill perfectly. There really is no "setup" to speak of, just plug and play. I like the flexible mic boom for kids, this seems way less likely to break off if they're a little rough on it. I let me kids use it for a few days and asked them how they liked it, how it felt, did it sound OK, etc, etc.... they gave it 5 out of 5 all the way. I tried it out and although it was a little tight on me, it is exactly what they advertise it to be. Easy 5 out of 5 here.

    Headset for younger kids

I liked the look of the JLab - JBuddies Play Gaming Headset. It had a gaming kid look and feel which I thought my 8 year old would really like but he didn't seem to notice. He was able to easily get the headset setup with his Nintendo Switch and his laptop with a little guidance from parents so the headset is somewhat intuitive. His gaming review was pretty simple - "Yeah, it seems to work good. I just really wish I could make it louder." Nothing else specifically stood out to him. From my experience, it seems to reach a decent volume when I connected it to a laptop and cellphone but I think the gaming experience could benefit from a better headset and/or the volume restrictions removed. For younger kids, the volume restrictions are more relevant to protect little ears. At 8 and up though, kids are looking for a bit more out of their headsets and often have other noises/distractions competing for their attention (noisy siblings, parents working from home, etc., music in the car) which can contribute to the volume needing to be louder in order to hear well. The restricted volume does seem to work consistently though. The microphone is a little harder to find without reading the description/instructions but it's incredibly convenient to be able to pull it down from within the headset. At a glance, I'd never guess that the headset contained a microphone. Battery life seems to hold well to the 22+ hours captured in the description. Overall, the JBuddies headset is a decent one and one I might recommend for some audio but I wouldn't necessarily purchase it for the sole purpose of gaming due to the restricted volume on this kid's headset.
