Good clean family movie for all to enjoy. I rate this move as average as it captures the viewer's attention though has trouble keeping it throughout the movie.

Ok i'll keep this brief i saw this movie in the iIMAX in 3D TWICE! and it's very rare that i go to the same movie twice especially in the IMAX...Thats how great this movie is!. There is no way this deserved any bad reviews yet somehow through the power of mass ignorance it got them. still shaking my head over that one i think maybe some of those critics didn't even watch the movie...this movie has great production value a fantasic cast with some of my favorie actors in it. and a timeless inspiring story somewhat similar to avatar but that is a good thing since that was also a great movie. in my opinion do not believe what some critics have said about this movie because they are dead wrong! it is one of the very best movies of 2012. and it has beautiful lynn collins and the great brian cranston in it!

One of my very favorite films of all time!

I absolutely love John Carter! It has been compared to other films but for me the movie experience was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. The story John Carter is based on is now 100 years old and it has inspired all of the most popular, well-known stories everyone knows and loves, like Star Wars, Avatar, Superman, Flash Gordon, I could go on and on. And yet, even though it has inspired so many things, it feels not quite like any of them. What the film accomplishes for me is a sense of wonderment, joy, and emotion. I saw the film 7 times in the theater and loved it more every time I saw it. I'm so impressed with the DVD extras and I know I'll enjoy watching the film with family and friends for years to come. My hope is that it will achieve cult classic status and that millions who didn't give the film a chance in theaters will realize how wonderful it is at home.

Most Enjoyable Adventure Film since Raiders

Rarely does a film has such an immediate and emotional impact as John Carter. The story is a 100 year old classic, and bringing it to the big screen by the director of Wall-E and Finding Nemo was a labor of love, and it shows throughout. The film gets better with repeat viewings, which is why you'll love having this in HD and in your library. I can't recommend it highly enough. You will have a blast.

Definitely see John Carter on DVD! I think you will love it. I have seen the film on several occasions with both family and friends who loved John Carter. It was a beautiful story and had an incomparable cast! (if you loved HBO's Rome series, you will love the cast!) The characters were all fantastic. It was just an extremely well made film and story that you want to go back to time and time again. And of course, we all want to go BACK TO BARSOOM!

    Must Have For Fantasy Fans

For those that missed it in the theaters in 3D IMAX now is the chance to make up for that. The movie is taken from the novel "A Princess of Mars" written by Edgar Rice Burroughs in 1912, the same author who created Tarzan. Highly acclaimed and the source for most authors and directors of the 20th century to draw on for thier inspiration. A Delight to watch and has something for everyone, Action, Romance, Comedy and Drama.

I read all the John Carter books when I was a kid. I found them to be very entertaining although I never quite got how John Carter GOT to Mars. Nevertheless all the critics said this movie was an overblown bomb with bad special effects. I found myself really drawn into the movie's plot and the scenery and effects were on par with most other movies I've seen. The action scenes were really nice and the comedic moments were pretty funny also. I can see why John Carter didn't want to leave Mars. After seeing Dejah Thoris I wouldn't want to leave either! Too bad there won't be any more.

    Great Movie, Average 3D.

I found this movie to be quite enjoyable, despite never having read the book it's based on. From an average movie collector's point of view and being just another random fantasy flick, John Carter is an awesome experience with nice effects and a fairly interesting story. I can't say anything in the way of accuracy though. The 3D, on the other hand, could have and should have been better. It's not bad, but, with so much CG, this movie should be at the top, even above Journey 2, as one of the best 3D experiences to date. Film Experience: 4 of 5 3D Experience: 3 of 5

This film is a must buy for any action/adventure lovers! Don't listen to critics or those who call this film a "flop", it is most certainly not! It takes you on a journey to Mars (or Barsoom as the natives call it), and whisks you away and leaves you smiling at the final minutes. Please buy!

It was really good, but it could have been amazing

John Carter was criminally underrated and mostly ignored when it came out in March of 2012, literally no one went and saw and I believe it was one of the biggest box office bombs ever. HOWEVER, if you are a fan of space opera's ala Serenity or of course) Star Wars look no further. While it's not amazing, John Carter does give us alot about in regards to lost civilizations on Mars. It's quite action heavy and feels a little uneven with the story but it makes up for it in stunning visuals at set pieces. I'm not a fan of CG but I found John Carter's to be quite superb. If you like space movies and lots of Aliens definitely give John Carter a watch.

    A science fantasy adventure.

When I first saw the trailers in the theatre, I thought, eagerly awaiting this one. The trailers generated much buzz but, then Disney failed to get behind it, considering how much it cost them is a mystery to me. They seemed to think the buzz would be enough and perhaps save them PR money. How about: From The Man Who Brought Us Tarzan! Was it that hard for the Disney machine? A big, not quite epic, adventure of a Mars before space explaration popped the bubble. Would be nice to see a sequel(or a prequel), many unanswered questions, more places to go to. I thought it a keeper, bought the Blu-Ray.

I don't understand why it tanked but John Carter is an awesome movie. I loved the plot of the movie. It's very entertaining. There are moments where it's funny. I considered this a blockbuster, it's popcorn entertainment. If you want a fun action packed science fiction adventure movie, you should watched this movie.

Pure entertainment; great visuals, action, acting, story and score. As time goes on this will prove what the Disney company was capable of. I don't know why they killed their own movie but they seem to be a company without goals and vision to stop could have been a great franchise for them.

This was refreshing to see ERB's Princess of Mars brought to the big screen. The visuals were very close to what came from the book. Though much of the book had to be condensed to fit it the time span alloted. Stanton did well with it.

I love science fiction movies and this one is the best one I have watched in a long time. I do have to agree that it started moving a little slow and I did not know where it was headed but once it did take off it captivatd me. Will watch over and over!!!

This movie got lost in all of the talk around the budget and very poor trailers for the film. That being said it is not as bad as you may have heard. The special effects are great and the action set pieces are very well done. The ending, however, will seem very familiar to those who have seen Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
