Good Machine, but had some troubles

We purchased this machine and loved the first few drinks it made. But than it started being inconsistent with the Froth and had to really deep clean it every time even after one drink and making the next one right after to get it to be about the same. We really were hoping that this would work out for us, but for the price we thought it should be more consistent with the drinks. Will need to look for another solution.

This is a well thought out and very solidly built unit. The espresso tastes phenomenal, very smooth. If you are serious about coffee this is definitely worth a look.
Highlights for me;
After initially being intimidated, it's pretty simple to use and navigate.
Large detachable water reservoir – it is a tad dark to see through.
It, basically, cleans itself and notifies you if it's out of beans, water, etc.
Everything controlled/set at the push/turn of a button.
We were provided with the optional Blue-tooth dongle. This allows you – through their app – to access machine settings – allowing you to basically brew from your phone – which is pretty cool.
Absolutely love the milk frother.
Coffee grounds are collected in a pull-out drawer and are easily disposed of.
Dispenser is height adjustable.
They even provide a water hardness tester, so you can adjust the machine to your water. Our water tested fine so we didn’t use the “smart” (replaceable) filter also provided.
Quibbles;
Biggest issue is there isn't an option to allow you to – temporarily - brew a different bean/coffee type. So, you have to wait until hopper has been emptied before you can change bean type. At this price point, I really think that should be an option.
Can only brew maximum of 8 oz.? At least that’s all I could do.
Adjustable espresso dispenser only allows room for a standard coffee mug, even at its highest position. There's definitely not room for my travel mug.
It's nice to have the milk frother, but it would also be nice to choose the amount of froth vs. warm milk.
Instructions mention not to use flavored beans as it can gum up the works. Personally, I don’t use flavored beans but if you do – this could be a big issue.
Overall a fairly fabulous machine that quite honestly produces the best coffee I have ever had.

Best Coffee I Have Made At Home

I'm no coffee expert. No one would confuse me as a barista. That said, if you came over to my house and I made you a cup of coffee you might think I was. The Jura E6 has been life changing from my morning coffee routine. I have been using Keurig's for years and have tried other coffee/espresso makers with integrated grinders such as the Breville BES870XL. The E6 is on a whole different playing field than anything I have tried before. Granted, it comes at a price, but if you are serious about your coffee then you may be willing to accept the cost of entry.
Out of the box it is a substantial, yet compact machine. Takes up fairly minimal counter space for a machine of this caliber. Setup is pretty simple and requires minimal assembly. You first do a water hardness test using the included test strip so that you can dial it in and also make the determination if you want to use the included water filter. My water is VERY soft, but I decided to use the filter anyways. I then dropped the beans into the hopper on top and away we went. I first started with a 'basic' cup of coffee. I don't use cream or sugar in my coffee so I can absolutely taste the difference in beans, machines, water quality, etc. All I can say is that the cup of coffee I made using Starbuck's Sumatra beans was frankly far better than anything Starbuck's had made me. It was smooth, had great body, and not bitter at all. It was the best cup of coffee I have ever made in my house. Now I can't really take any credit as the E6 did all the work, but Bravo Jura! Bravo! Additionally, you can make cappuccinos and espresso. The former can be done with the included milk receptacle that connects to the side of the machine to produce beautifully frothed milk. The best part is that it is easily detached and can then be stored in the refrigerator until the next use. Cleanup is also a cinch. Pull out the tray at the bottom, empty the grind receptacle, rinse everything out and you are off and running again. I clean the machine each evening and I drink multiple cups throughout the day. It will also let you know if you need to empty the grinds.
Operation in general is pretty easy. You can connect via bluetooth to the machine and control general settings and beverage settings too. Fine grain control over strength, water usage, and temperature is available. You can also make a cup remotely, but given that the unit cleans itself on the first cup I question the value of that. I also wish it had an auto-on timer in the morning, but given the speed in which it makes coffee from a cold standstill I can't truly complain. In fact, I think it is faster than my Keurig from a cold start.
Grinder works impeccably and the grinds found in the receptacle are compacted little discs of consistent quality. This is truly bordering on commercial grade quality. Jura also has a two year, 6,000 cup warranty which is excellent. It's a nice added peace of mind when purchasing a coffee maker of this caliber and expense.
As I stated at the beginning, if your morning, afternoon, or evening coffee is important to you then I can't recommend the Jura E6 highly enough. I can't imagine life without it now.

Cya K Cups!!

I’ve been a K Cup user at home for many years and have always been happy with it. For higher-end coffee I would venture out to the local Starbucks. That has all changed since receiving my Jura E6 Espresso/Coffee Maker. Now I’m able to enjoy top-shelf coffee and coffee drinks at home!
When opening the box, my first impression was it’s a big unit and there are a lot of pieces and parts. I was a little hesitant until reading through the directions and started the setup process. It is a relatively large unit but was quite simple to setup and use with just a little guidance from the manuals, online resources and practice. There was a “task card” included which prompts you to walk through different processes…I found this to be very helpful.
Using the system if pretty straight forward, users can select from standard coffee, espresso or cappuccino drinks. Specific drinks can be set up within the system, how large of a cup, strength of brew and whether to add frothed milk, etc. An added feature is the user can select and program a particular drink and save it for future use. There is also a Bluetooth adapter which allows for managing the machine via the Jura app on mobile devices.
The coffee output is so far off the charts from what I have been drinking over the years, I was actually a bit regretful that I hadn’t moved to a system like the Jura E6 sooner. I’ve only tried two different beans so far but can say without a doubt the coffee drinks will rival any of the fancy coffee shops and in the long run will be much more cost effective.
Pros:
- Solid build of the machine and accessories
- Brews the best coffee drinks you will ever make at home or at the office
- Glass milk bottle option is a plus as it can be disconnected and put back in the fridge for future use.
- Ease of use with very little learning curve
- no longer filling the landfill with K cup containers
- Bluetooth adapter for preparation of drinks on the fly
Cons:
- Onboard grinder provides fresh ground flavor but limits the ability to change beans quickly
- I take a coffee to go daily and most of my to go mugs do no not fit under the service nozzles
- Doesn’t brew a pot of coffee, so there may be a little line at the Jura in a small office or larger group environment.
Overall the Jura E6 is an incredible system for producing “fancy” coffee drinks or the perfect Cup of Joe. It’s overall ease of use, Bluetooth option and programmability make it a great choice for home use by coffee lovers or a small office environment that needs a coffee upgrade.

Exceptional Cup of Coffee

I was a little daunted when I first opened the box - the number of instruction books, including one on maintenance had me thinking this was a very complicated machine and one that would take a lot of time to clean and maintain.
After reading the instruction manual, I jumped in however, and was pleased to find how easy everything is to use. This is mostly because of the step-by-step instructions on the screen.
Besides making coffee, espresso, cappuccino and ristretto, you can choose how much coffee, how much froth, the strength of the coffee and the temperature.
What's really great is the Bluetooth connected app that allows me to select and brew my selection with one touch on my phone!
Cleaning is easy due to online screen instructions, a filter which will eliminate the need to descale (I plan on using), and a convenient way to put in a cleaning pod when needed.
I like that you can clean the coffee system and the milk system separately and also can store leftover milk in the container in the fridge.
This machine is high quality and serves up exceptional coffee/espresso from freshly ground beans. Everything is convenient (such as the bean hopper, water tank, drip pan, coffee ground container) and very easy to make the perfect brew every time!

I am a new man

I thought I had it all with my Ninja coffee bar and my fridge with a built in Keurig, then Jura came into my life. I am no coffee snob but I do enjoy a good cup of joe as well as an occasional espresso here and there.
Opening up my Jura was uneventful, the packaging is decent and honestly its nothing to write home about as far as looks go. It is impressive in its size though, I guess it needs to be due to all the things it can do. Be sure to read all the manuals and download the app if you get the Bluetooth adapter. But it also helps with instructions and ordering even if you do not get the adapter.
After plugging it in and powering up it will go through a list of set up. Use the tester strip to test how hard your water is and input the info into your Jura. Then follow the rest of the steps.
Fill it up with your favorite beans, water and milk if you like a little frothy goodness. I myself prefer black coffee, but gave it a shot to try out all the bells and whistles.
First let me warn you that if you use the bluetooth controls, making espresso, using small espresso cups, when the machine starts it vibrates quite a bit and the cups will move out of the path of the nozzles.
You can adjust the strength and heat of your coffee which is on great. I myself prefer a cup I can drink immediately, but my wife prefers it as hot as lava.
The machine is pretty noisy but I can understand why. I also like how it cleans itself after you power it down. Just remember to clean out the drain pan and the grounds container daily or as often as its used.
Better than any coffee shop and right in my own kitchen. I will be hanging onto my Ninja so I can brew up a pot of cold brew now and then, I will for sure be nixing the k-cups.

Incredible Coffee, Goodbye Coffee Store!!!

If you are looking for a premium espresso / coffee maker you should definitely get a Jura!
My wife and I were staying at a small bed and breakfast on the California coast when we discovered Jura for the first time. While they had a commercial model the Jura E6 delivers the same incredible coffee and espresso that we came to love during our stay.
You'll find yourself realizing that the coffee you made at home previously, and possibly thought was amazing, was really nothing compared. Beyond the coffee itself, the Jura E6 is somewhat of an upgrade for your kitchen, it looks like something something you'll see on a TV cooking show in a designer kitchen.
The Jura E6 makes Espresso, 2 x Espresso, Coffee, 2 x Coffee, Cappuccino, Portion of milk foam and Hot water for tea etc. The water tank holds almost 64 oz of water which is enough for 10 or so drinks depending upon the size of the drinks chosen.
While you might be looking at the upfront cost of the Jura when compared to other alternatives, it's worth thinking about the money you'll save when compared to capsule systems or your local coffee shop. The Jura is a premium coffee maker and it is designed and built to last. The coffee you'll get each morning (or through out the day) will taste much better than you'd get at your local coffee store. Compared to both capsule systems and your local coffee shop, you'll save thousands of dollars over the life time of your Jura.
Another thing worth mentioning with the Jura is the amazing number of accessories available. We've ordered the Cool Control Milk cooler and can't wait to try that with the Jura E6.

The best coffee machine I have used so far. The machine compared to my previous Espresso machine (that also wasn't a cheap one), is so much better. The extraction of coffee is much better and gives me a thicker coffee based on default settings.
The milk froth accessory doesn't come with E6 so if you want to get a better setup for coffee with milk, expect a small additional spend.
Overall, the best coffee machine that meets my requirements.
