Loverboy still has what it takes to Rock & Roll!

Loverboy still has the Rock & Roll energy and enthusiasm in them! Cool Rocking songs and memorable ballads done right are pouring out of Loverboy like it is the '80's! I always bought Loverboy and appreciated their blend of Rock, Hard Rock and easy listening tracks. I bought this album without hearing a single song, I have no regrets. "Just Getting Started" starts this album off on a high note, a fast paced Rock song that sounds so reminiscent of the 1980's Loverboy. "Fade To Black" is a ballad that works well due to the songs structure and Mike Reno's ability to vocalize with true Rock swagger. "One Of Them Days" and "Back For More" are two more high octane tunes that legitimizes this comeback by Loverboy. "I Would Die For You" is a ballad that is as edgy as it is emotional, Mike Reno again sounds like he stepped back into 1985. "As Good As It Gets" is my favorite track, it Rocks with a more current, pumped up sound, plus the lyrics are positive. "Stranded" is another track that shows off a current Loverboy sound, it is a fast paced ballad that ends this album on a high note. I am hoping Loverboy will release new material again soon. Overall, the musicianship is quality with no filler songs to be found. I really enjoy this album, it is an accomplishment for Loverboy to have this good of a comeback. Fans of Loverboy must buy "Just Getting Started", new fans should dig deep into the Loverboy catalog of albums as well. Phil Colin of Def Leppard lends background vocals on "Stranded". Loverboy is: Mike Reno with vocals, Paul Dean on guitar & vocals, Matt Frenette on drums, Doug Johnson on keyboards and Ken (Spider) Sinnaeve on bass. The complete song list as follows: "Just Getting Started", "Fade To Black", "One Of Them Days", "Back For More", "Lost With You", "I Would Die For You", "Real Thing", "The One That Got Away", "As Good As It Gets", "Stranded". The liner notes are not too shabby, with lyrics for only one song, "Just Getting Started". Plenty of thank you's & credits are in the liner notes.
