There's not much to say about the disc or the film on it. It's appears to be the same transfer as the 2008 disc, but not it's encoded with an AVC codec rather than a VC-1 codec. So, it looks a little better. The big issue is the case. I love the art by the late, great Darwyn Cooke. Unfortunately, the spine is a bit off. You can see it in my pictures. (Hopefully those are included since Best Buy hasn't included them in some of my recent reviews.) It's a worthy upgrade from the old Blu-ray, just make sure the case is in good condition.

I have the original DVD collector's set with 2 discs and the Green Lantern figure. I really enjoyed this movie as there was a different spin to the DC Universe with different cast of voices and a story that takes place in a bygone era. Having the movie and bonus features in HD on the Blu Ray disc was nice since the original DVD version had the movie on one and the bonus features on the other disc. The DVD in this set (understandably) only contains the movie. Glad I picked this up the first day as there were only 2 copies in the store. The steelbook artwork is incredible and I really enjoyed the thoughtfulness of re-introducing this movie.

Before I watched this, I assumed it was going to have the same sort of ridiculously campy tone of the '60s Batman or '70s Wonder Woman show, but The New Frontier is a far cry from such material. It's a very smart story that cleverly mirrors both the changing culture in America and the changing landscape of comics, both during the 1950s, Not only does Darwyn Cooke's original writing shine through, but his art style translates perfectly to the animation here. The steelbook is also a very nice design, as the back cover and interiors showcase more of Cooke's iconic designs for these characters.

One of my favorite Justice League stories in animation form. A Better watch than reading the book. The old team was really Great at making these cinematic stories come to like with perfect casting, and animation resembling the artist from the books!

DC makes the best animated movies, too bad they can't transfer that too well into its live action films. This was a great retelling of the origins of the justice league as if they were created during one of the world wars. When I saw this on the self on sale for $9 I had to grab it. The steel book makes a great addition to the collection

I had never seen this dc animated film before so I figured as a fan of dc why not. It was a great movie and felt epic especially towards the end. I really enjoyed this one and for any dc fan I would think they would too. It's different but in a good way fro the other dc films.

One of the best DC animated movies. This movie takes me in time to the beginnings of the Justice League

If you like classic super-heroes, animation, and/or mid-century styling/nostalgia, I highly recommend this. It's based on a great comic, so if you like this, check out the comic, too. Picture quality is excellent. Extras are really good.

This is a great adaptation of the late and GREAT Darwyn Cookes comic series. I already own this on dvd but this steelbook version with Cookes artwork was too beautiful to pass up! I highly recommend checking this out!

The Justice League: The New Frontier [Commemorative Edition] [Blu-ray] [2008] was needed to add to my collection of Justice league blu rays. The picture is amazing!

i saw this when it came out i loved it , this had a good story and it introduced me to some older dc characters i never knew existed

Adaptations can be tricky, particularly when you're trying to adapt not just the story but also the art style. For awhile, DC was adapting graphic novels for direct-to-DVD release and using the original artist's style as a guide. It's an extremely difficult goal that often doesn't work too well. But fortunately Darwyn Cooke's style lends itself to animation -- no surprise since he began his career in animation before going into comics. And the story is a lovely Silver Age tale that touches upon so many great and classic DC characters. New Frontier is by far one of the best direct-to-DVD releases that DC has ever done. However, if you already own this movie, there's not much in this commemorative edition to entice you to double-dip. There's a new featurette celebrating the life of Darwyn Cooke (who passed away in 2016) and there's Best Buy's exclusive steelbook, which is beautiful. But that's it. However if you're like me and only got it on DVD the first time, this may be the excuse you need to upgrade to Blu-ray. Highly recommended.

I need this for along time so I decided to buy it and it being in Steelbook was a Plus too

This anniversary steelbook edition is really awesome, the artwork is so beautiful :)

These DC comics are wonderfully animated and I always am surprised by the voice casting!

LOVE THE JUSTICE LEAGUE ANIMATED MOVIES. REALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THIS MOVIE TOO!

An interesting view of the JLA of modern day in the 1950’s. Kind of reminded me of JLA meets Watchmen.

I enjoyed this movie. I have been a fan of DC since I was a child. I recommend.

This movie was great from start to finish with plenty of action.
