I have a 65" Sony and was looking for a solid, well-built tabletop TV stand as I tend to move every couple of years so mounting on the wall isn't practical. One of the main criteria was a metal base since I have seen/heard of tempered glass bases breaking more times that I want to risk. I purchased this stand instead of the smaller Kanto model that maxes out at 65" in case I buy a larger TV in the future.
Pros:
1. Easy to assemble but I do recommend 2 people as the stand is heavy. I assembled it by myself and struggled a little to lift it once the TV was attached.
2. It swivels in smooth, easy touch motion. I can use 1 finger pressed on the top corner of the TV and it swivels with no issues. This helps because I never have to touch the screen or pull/push hard to move it to the optimal viewing angle.
3. I really like the metal base as it gives me peace of mind that it won't tip over.
Cons:
1. Slight con - The base is huge. It takes up the entire depth of my entertainment unit. That being said, I feel comfortable that the unit is very stable.
2. Since my viewing angle is low, the top of the stand sticks out above the top of the TV. This may be an opportunity for 3 models: 55" and below, 56" to 70", 70" and above.
Otherwise, perfect for my needs and worth the additional cost over a tempered glass base if that concerns you like it did me.
