My first set of KEFs and they are sweet!

These monitors dropped in price and I always wanted to try KEF out. So glad I did! I'll spare you all of the audiophile blah blah blah. I had an extra Sonos amp that pushes 125 watts per channel and decided to drive these 2-way speakers with that amp at my desktop for near-field listening. For $350, I can honestly say these are some of the best speakers I've purchased in my lifetime. The walnut enclosures are impeccably built. The sounds stage is wide, the highs are not too harsh, the mids are decent, and the lows....well, add a sub if you need it. Personally, I love them just the way they are, although I did turn up the bass a little in the Sonos app. Yeah, I know what you're thinking...Sonos....ugh...but it is just another speaker purchase to satisfy that "urge" of more equipment : ) I would highly recommend these speakers if you have $350 quid laying around! Enjoy.

I picked these up based off recommendations online as a good pair of near field monitors. I had been using a pair of single driver, full range speakers and a 4.5wpc SET amp that sounded amazing, but was lean on the lows. This setup worked well for me for many years, but more recently as I updated my work setup I no longer had room for the rather large amp. I originally set out to buy a newer small class D amp and figured I'd upgrade my speakers while I was at it. The Kef Q150 are a fantastic value when on sale for $300, but there are better speakers I'd look for at their full price. Build quality is not as nice as my previous speakers (Tekton Design 4.5) or my main speakers downstairs, but they do sound pretty good. The uni drivers provide fantastic soundstage and they work well near field as not all speakers will. I've used these speakers with 3 different amps and only one was a poor combination. First up was my 4.5wpc SET amp which is just so musical, and a touch warm which is common with tubes. This was a great combo as it toned down the uptick these speakers have in the highs. Next, I tried a sub $200 Class D amp and the highs just sounded too shrill and led to listening fatigue so I next tried with a Rega IO class AB amp and this was the best of both. More power than my tube amp while still not sounding shrill in the highs. I know this amp costs more than the Q150 at full MSRP, but it is a good pairing. Overall I would recommend these to anyone that has space and wants a near field setup. I'm presently using these on some Kanto desktop stands with either my Oppo BDP-83SE universal disc player or my MacBook Pro as source (USB DAC) to a Rega IO integrated amp rated at 30wpc.

The sound is fantastic. Great for a small to mid size room. Audio is great well mastered tracks and has a nice sound strange. Need a sub if you are a bass head.

Purchased this set during the Holidays. First impressions nice looking speaker. They are replacing speakers that are 14 years old so they have work to do. I chose them based on reviews and the looks. The speakers are stand mounted ear level with slight tow in about 6 feet apart. First impressions the sound stage and depth. The speaker creates a wide sound stage with good instument seperation. In room bass response in huge for a small speaker. They are not to bright wich I like as you can always EQ them. I listen in pure direct mode via a Denon receiver. I like them so much I purchased a single unit for my center channel and a Kef subwoofer. The price has since dropped so buy them now! The only negative is you have to buy the grills separately and you need a good 70 watts amp to get the best out of them.

"I'm really enjoying the KEF Q150 speakers. The Uni-Q driver lives up to its reputation, delivering an impressively wide soundstage. I can hear clear, crisp audio even when I'm in another room, a testament to the speakers' excellent sound projection. Placing them about 24 inches from the wall helps control the bass, preventing it from getting too boomy while still maintaining a rich, full sound. The sleek, minimalistic design adds a touch of modern elegance to any space, and the build quality feels solid and premium. Whether for music, movies, or other media, these speakers perform brilliantly."

I’ve been running the KEF Q150s (in white) with my Denon X3800H, and the combination is phenomenal. These speakers punch well above their weight, delivering crystal-clear highs, rich mids, and a surprisingly full low end for bookshelf speakers. The Uni-Q driver design really spreads the sound evenly, making the soundstage feel wide and immersive. Vocals are clean and detailed, and they handle complex tracks with ease. Movies and music both sound incredible, whether at low volumes or cranked up. The white finish looks clean and modern—great aesthetic if you're trying to keep your setup looking sleek. Paired with the Denon, these speakers shine without needing tons of tweaking. Highly recommended if you're building a high-performance yet compact audio system

Let me begin by explaining how I am powering these speakers - using the An Douk Audio ST-01 Pro Tube Amplifier. Prepare to rediscover your favorite songs with these speakers! Simply close your eyes and let the music take you away. I was pleasantly surprised by the impressive sound quality they produced, with crystal-clear sound, perfect highs, deep bass, and excellent instrument separation. Although I was initially skeptical about the all-in-one driver, they performed exceptionally well and offered a larger soundstage than expected, making them a great value for their price. In addition to their exceptional performance, they also have an attractive design. However, they may be too large for use on a desk. Overall, I highly recommend these speakers based on their outstanding sound quality, which is the most crucial factor for speakers, particularly at such a reasonable price point.

Excellent sound for the price. Very musical speakers. Perfect for a smaller room. I’m using these as near fields on a desktop setup with a denon amp feeding 90watts. Really great soundstage with a crisp top end. Midrange is pretty warm. Sounds really good all around. Bass is tight but will likely need a sub for 50hz and under. Position them correctly and enjoy. Excellent purchase, I would buy it again.

Paired with a Denon 600ne amp these are amazing. Tremendous soundstage for a small speaker. Bass response is very good in a small room a sub is not needed. I wondered about the Uni Q set up but it delivers great bass and the clarity is excellent. A steal at $299. Buy them before they go back up!!

A smooth and easy to listen to speaker with great mid range and balanced treble. Soundstage is excellent, the best I’ve heard from such a small speaker.I have these paired with the Elac DSA-101-G streamer and the REL HT1205 subwoofer.

I came to the Q150s after demoing next to some Polk T series. Both speakers sounded good, and the Polks were ‘punchier’, but the Q150s were significantly better in terms of clarity and soundstage. I’m no audiophile, but I’m impressed with the value from KEF at this price point.

Good speakers. They image well and have great soundstage. Sweet on the treble and more bass than I expected. Not the best quality of bass but it's descent and above average looks for it's sale price. Better options out there at it's regular price.
