My ears did a double take when I heard these play.

I have owned speakers in ranges from $900 on down. Focals, Boston Acoustics, Eclipse, MB Quartz, Alpine, Blau's, JBL, JVC Arsenal, JL Audio, and Pioneer just to name a few. For the money, dollar per dollar; these are the best speakers I have ever bought for the money. My old Boston Rallye series are a close second to these. This particular pair of Kenwood speakers are not what I woud ever call "cheap" in any way, shape, or form. They are high quality factory replacement speakers that are "inexpensive;" high quality for a very low price. In fact, I thought there was no way these speakers could sound so warm, balanced, and this smooth with imaging that is far better than the Kenwood component set on the display board. Simply put, I was blown away for the money spent. The only drawback I see is the low RMS, 30 watts is low if you plan to amp them, you will blow the drivers with an amp. However, here is the best part regarding these speakers: take the money for the amp, put that money towards a higher end head unit that is rated at or near these speakers. Add a single 10" sub with a 300 watts mono amp and you will have an amazing sounding system for a small amount of money. Or replace the cheap sounding OEM factory speakers and use the factory radio to drive them. They will sound incredible due to the fact that they are so efficent speakers. I bought them to replace my factory speakers in my older Jaguar, they sound amazing. In a few months I will upgrade my head unit, and a few months later I will install my mono amp and single 10" subwoofer. I have spent $1,000's upon $1000's on single car systems. This set up will rival most of them, if not out perform them because these speakers are so well balanced and require very little output to drive them. If you are a younger person and listen to rap or hip-hop, they are not for your liking; but if are older like me and enjoy hearing a cymbal sizzling, and acoustic quitar filling up your vehicle's cabin with life-like sound and warmth. Then buy them before they are gone. In fact Crutchfield has them listed on sale at $69.99, that should clue you into the quality that they actually are. I love em. Best speaker purchase I ever made, and the store matched an online site for $22 a pair. Cha-ching!

I was pleased with the sales guy. He knew his merchandise. Which I was very impressed being he was a young kid. I had visited the store prior to & the sales clerk I spoke with at the beginning was not conveincing to make a sale. Instead she made me look at other competitors because she quoted me a high price estimate & all I wanted was just to replace my factory speakers. But all in all I was glad to have visited the store once again & hoped that shift changed had taken it's place. Which it did! Thanks Best Buy hope that young man makes it to a higher position in your company due to the fact he know his business!

One of the door speakers in my wifes 07 Versa started crackling very bad. I was just looking for a cheap replacement. This was half right, it was cheap, I didnt check online to see if it would fit, and it kinda did. One the Versa has some weird stuff going on with their speaker sizes, these speakers were too deep to roll the window down all the way and I made little spacers. Not the speakers fault at all! They sound like stock speakers., but for the price what do you expect.

for the type of my music it is great, clear crisp. I'm not much for bass, this is enough for me, this is exactly what I was looking for. I listen to live concerts, country, some alternative type music. I don't want to get thumped out, if you want a solid bass go get yourself a subwoofer.
It is powered by my amp, as always make sure your amp is tuned.

For starter I got these only to replace a tweeter and remove the blown. Let me say for the price they are great keep in mind the bass will not be loud with these as they are mid range woofer, tweeter not sub woofer tweeter. Get a sub if you want bass. If you like hearing drums, symbols and voice get the speaker and buy a sub with them. Simple put right

Using them as front speakers. They don't give much bass but the quality is pretty good especially for such a low price.

86db is just not efficient enough

Most here are thinking of purchasing these to replace their stock speakers in their car. These speakers are extremely inefficient. I did buy these off the Best Buy shelf for my son's truck because the stock speakers stopped working long ago. I am extremely disappointed in them. They distort and seem to not have any lows. Spend just a little more and get a speaker with a 92+ db rating (immensely more efficient). You won't be sorry and your deck amp will perform much better. Good luck!!!

I purchased these speakers about a month or so ago and got them for a great price. In the store they sounded good but after about a weeks time i noticed that the any bass I play through them sounds horrible. I would return them but putting them in was a pain and didn't keep some of the packaging. I also notice I am having to turn the volume up louder with these than I did with my factory speakers to get the same level of volume. Not really happy with them overall.

These speakers sounded worse then the blown stock speakers in my Chevy Trailblazer. Do your self a favor and spend the extra few dollars a better pair of speakers. I went with the Polk DXI650's. Still kinda lacking bass but 10 times better then these Kenwoods.
