I had a double DIN radio space in the dash and needed blue tooth in a new radio. Didn't want to spend a lot getting updated to a new generation and the deal looked right. You get what you pay for. Blue tooth works as needed, sound is just OK, radio features are just minimal. Touch screen works well (capacitive, not pressure) screen is hard to read in daylight. Not bad - should have spent a little more.

Slow start up but works well

The primary reason for my 3 star rating is the fact that it takes a very long time to start the display and enable use. I added a back up camera to my install but the radio starts so slow that I have to wait for it if I need the back up camera to start my journey. One thing missing from the system that should have been added was a display mode for the power levels on the EQ. You can set it but you can't monitor the output. I had one other problem with the unit. When it is installed, the adapter ring is too close to the volume knob. This is an annoying fault. That said, it has a good price point and works well but if I had more time to shop and research I probably would not have bought this model.

    So Far So Good

2006 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab LE w/o Rockford Fosgate package. I just needed Bluetooth, so pretty much any head unit I researched had that. Many I researched had issues with the connectivity and static feedback. So far I have not had any of those issues with Bluetooth. Some have said it slow to respond and that maybe, but no slower than using Android Assistant on my phone, so I guess I don't notice. The touchscreen responds everytime, but it is a bit slow. Pause and Plays seem to work just fine, but menu navigation is a little slow. Radio use, the metadata is typically not correct, so not sure what is up with that. I did update the firmware after about a week of use. The unit on day 3 started exhibiting a digital noise feedback on all connections, not just bluetooth. When no sound was being played it still exhibited it. I turned the unit totally off and back and it went away, only to come back louder and more consistent the following day. I did the firmware update and so far so good. Overall it meets my needs, I don't think it is an upgrade on the sound of the stock speakers that typically most aftermarket stereos will have, I actually feel it degrades it a bit. I may updated the speakers, but that starts taking me down the upgrade rabbit hole, and really just wanted bluetooth for handsfree calling and texting. I use Android Auto, so stereo is only for transmitting sound. I also went with this unit for a future upgrade to a backup camera. Cannot comment on video quality. I will say the old school resistive display is not very bright, so direct sunlight is going to wash it out pretty bad. I have a dark tint and windshield tint on my vehicle and it has helped a lot, but it is still washed out on max. Played with the black settings and it helped a bit more. When the unit switches from playing audio to ringing for an incoming call the decibels go up on the same volume setting, but then when the call is answered the decibel level is the same as the music level. Dunno. The last thing I ran into which has more to do with the Nissan layout is that unit is recessed quite a bit. Using the included trim bracket does not allow the dashboard to seat totally in place, but not using it leaves a gap on the top and bottom of the unit seeing the cavity of both above and below the stereo. So there's that. I am using the trim piece as the dash is still secured and the gap it leaves is not noticeable and allows me to run the mic wire to the dash above the steering wheel, with out worry of the wire being pinched when fully seated.

I bought this on sale so price was good for the amount of things this unit can do. But beware of what your car might need to have units like these installed because it could add up to have this in your car.

I bought this and had it installed because I thought it worked with Android Auto. Unfortunately, the Android connectivity is limited to pulling songs off of your device. Therefore, you won't get Google maps on display. If you just want something to connect with Bluetooth, there are cheaper options. Only get this if you want to add a backup camera (which I don't).

The radio works good, and sounds pretty good in my Mustang Convertible. There are times that the unit will freeze and no buttons will work, and the only way to get it to work is to restart the car. Also, sometimes the Bluetooth has trouble syncing my calls to the speakers. The radio and cd work just fine.

Sounds better than the stock radio my SUV came with. The Android app is horrible. I wish it would link with my phone to display maps. Bluetooth works fine, but takes a while to link when you start your automobile.

So we've had this radio in a 2010 Prius for about 4 months now. When the radio was installed we lost steering wheel controls because there was no adapter for our car. It works OK however it is a real hassle trying to pair another phone or Bluetooth device once something else was paired. Also the Pandora app is useless we always just use the Bluetooth device menu when using Pandora. The screens aren't very customizable and the screen does sometimes seem to not be as responsive as I like.
