Good radio but I have had really bad luck. Mine loses connection with my cell, doesn’t display my gps, the screen goes black every so often. And many other problems. I have been to the shop a few times now

This radio has everything I was looking for: Navigation, XM Ready, Bluetooth, Android Auto. I am new to android auto, but now that I've tried it I would never go back. It handles everything with the touch of a button - and you never have to handle your phone while driving again - Texts, Phone, Music, Google Maps, Calendar....everything on your phone, right on the screen. The audio controls are many and you can configure just about every aspect of the radio. Very intuitive and well thought out. If you're looking for a unit that does it all, this one is fantastic.

This is so much better than the stock 2017 Subaru Outback radio that maybe I'm blinded to any cons. But Apple CarPlay is so great. Built in nav is Garmin which I consider a good thing. Firmware update came out on Labor day, same day I had the install done. I got it on a sale of the day, and it still came with free install. So happy the geek squad did the install. I supplied the iDatalink wiring harness. I have all my steering wheel controls. 3 things didn't connect to the Subaru: 1. Starlink currently has a red light and says not connected even though the iDatalink wiring harness includes a Starlink wire. No one knows how to fix that. 2. Couldn't use the built in USB ports in the dash because the internal USB wire didn't support CarPlay. So there is the Kenwood supplied USB cable snaking out from under the center console. But CarPlay is so awesome that I have no complaints but still I wish the USB could have been in the dash. Sigh. 3. The built-in mic in the headliner didn't work so they had to mount the Kenwood supplied mic. But I think the Kenwood mic is better than the original Subaru mic anyway. And geek squad did a perfect job of hiding the cable. Backup camera works and includes the bendy lines as you turn the wheel (stock radio didn't have that). GS also hooked up the OBDII connection from iDatalink so I can bring up the analog gauges for oil temp, rpm, some other things. Fun but not sure how useful that is, although probably good for track day if you were into that. Overall this is SO MUCH better than the stock radio (which didn't have Nav or CarPlay). How can any car from 2017 or later NOT include Navigation? Also, I think it sounds way better than the stock radio and it does have a lot of audio controls. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough to find the cons but I'm so happy we got this and had Geek Squad install it (for free!).

The sunlight shining renders it near useless from glare. Screen adjustment for angle/screen brightness doesn’t help. It’s unfortunate it cannot tilt!!!

The Android auto app is useless. It works intermittently and I can't listen to anything from my phone without it. I wish I had never made this mistake. I've tried updating the software, deleting and reinstalling the app, and everything else I can google. It's a great stereo, but the connectivity is awful.

I bought this unit to replace an older Kenwood in my wife's vehicle that was showing some wear. The unit was on sale so I went ahead and got it - it had more than I thought she would use but I also thought the Apple CarPlay would make life easier for her to use the features. BB installed, and I was very pleasantly surprised. CarPlay is like having the iOS interface on your car stereo. The sound quaity was superb - noticeable difference, especially on the low end. Steering wheel controls well implemented. Can hook up two phones at the same time and give priority to one. Each can receive calls. But one takes priority over the other. Works very well. The screen is beautiful. Got the Kenwood backup camera and much, much better display that my old Garmin. The Garmin in the Kenwood does give voice turn by turn, but does not accept voice commands (or at least I have not figured out how to do so yet). But you can use Apple Maps with it - Siri voice controlled and works great (as well as free map updates). Apple Maps has improved by leaps and bounds since first introduced and works as well if not better than the Garmin. Long and the short of it, I was so enamored with it that my wife went out and got one for my car as well! Love the unit (and the wife!), and while not cheap worth every penny. BB did a first class job on both installs. BB and this unit both very highly recommended.
