    Great head unit

I bought this stereo for my 2004 Chevy Silverado. It fits perfectly into the dash and looks great. I was hesitant to replace the stock unit and was concerned that it would look out of place, but the color scheme is adjustable to the other color lights in the dash. iPhone and Bluetooth work perfect. The remote microphone wires hid nicely in the “A” post cover and clips onto the visor. The microphone volume is adjustable on the head unit, and there is a noise reduction feature included as well. This truck is a little bit older, but even with the road noise the people I am talking to on the phone can hear me perfectly and say that there isn’t any background noise. The head unit sounded good and is way better than the stock unit. I also installed one of the $80 10” Dual integrated subwoofers that has the built in amp to fill out the bass that is missing from the 4 six and a half inch Polk speakers I installed a couple of years ago. Also have two 4x6 speakers mounted behind the plastic vents in the back doors. The radio controls are great and easy to learn. There are different settings for the scan and search features that are explained simply in the instructions. In the end, I would definitely buy this head unit again, especially considering the price. Worth every penny!

Purchased the radio installed it with ease.. Had to call Kenwood but there service department was less than desirable. All in all the problem was solved which turned out to be simple.Lots of interesting features more than i will ever use the sound is excellent considering its coming from old stock speakers.. Which happen to be on my to do next project.

    Great Replacement Stereo

The original stereo in my 2003 Subaru Forester was short on features, so I replaced it with this Kenwood. I was looking for something reasonably priced and capable of doing bluetooth and Sirius XM. The stereo fits directly into our double-din dashboard space with no additional spacers or adapters. The microphone is mounted near the instrument cluster and works pretty well. The additional Sirius XM piece (also bought at BB) plugs into the radio and eliminates other pieces and wiring on the dashboard. Overall, it's a decent solution. My only nit is the center knob. It is so slippery, it's really hard to tell when it's being turned.

Went with Kenwood for it's reputation as well as the price point. We also had Best buy install the radio in our '03 Camry for our son to have the hands free feature. I was extremely disappointed with the screen brightness. It doesn't matter if you have the brightness level to the max or tried changing the color, it still doesn't allow you to properly see the screen while day driving. At night or during a (very) cloudy day you don't have this problem. Unfortunately, I live in FL and most of the time it's very sunny out. You can see from the pic that the screen is barely visible if at all. That's an obvious problem while driving. The other problem is the radio was constantly connecting/ disconnecting repeatedly while driving which is annoying. This is obviously a radio problem because our other vehicle's bluetooth radio does not do this with my phone. Hopefully my geek squad protection will help with these problems or I'm exchanging this radio.

This was a perfect replacement for ours in a 2004 Grand Am GT that was slowly going bad. We added the Sat system since we had it with the old system. Everything works great and the installation went perfect. It was because of the sales/inst rep that we decided on this unit. He was very informative and patient while we were making our decision.

This is a solid deck that performs well. My only complaint? The Bluetooth with an iPhone 6S is laggy and sometimes unresponsive. Sound quality is fantastic! I read reviews that complained about the display lighting being too dim, but I've had no issue with the kelly green color.

I was looking for a nice inexpensive radio to put in my Honda Element. It was very easy to install and works great. I have known about Kenwood car stereos for years.

I hate this thing and want or out of my car. The sound cuts off at random, I have to re set it about 4x a day. There too many steps to get to CD, Tuner, Bluetooth....have to click button to get each one. It also is hard to read on sunny days. Wish I would have just got a regular one. Double Din is not all its crack up to be.

I've been very patient with this company and its employees. But this is more then likely the last time I'm dealing with them. I've had issues with their in store "experts" not knowing products well enough to sell the wrong lens with a camera to selling my kid a wifi blueray player without wifi... I had high hopes to install this deck into my truck. I picked the open box item because, well it was guaranteed to work and have all of the parts with it. Well guess what. It came without the dam wire harness that you HAVE TO HAVE in order for the deck to work. I call customer service and the best thing that i can do is either drive 15 miles to my nearest store and return it and wait 5 days for them to ship it again or send it back by mail and again wait 5 days for it. Some guarantee and great solutions to fix my issue. Again not the first time that I've had issues with Best Buy. But I guess it is my fault for thinking all the parts would be included too...

This stereo has great sound and is a great replacement/upgrade from factory stereo. Programming stations a breeze, CD works good, calls come through clear and easily connected to my iPhone & the apps I stream from. Only real CON, the stereo does ALOT and the instruction manual can use some improvement; you have to “play” a bit if you have an issue. But the stereo does have a ton of features, especially given it’s cost.

This stereo works great but there are a few flaws I would like to address. The lighting is quite weak especially when the unit is in direct sun. Don't even try reading the display during that time. Also the source button is delayed and sometimes unresponsive. I wish there was a way to remove certain sources I don't use because it takes forever to select between them. For the money it is a great head unit and features work perfectly. I'm not sure what others are talking about with the bluetooth but mine connects quickly to my iPhone 6. Installation and service received from Best Buy Mission Valley was excellent.

This unit has great sound, many high end features. One drawback: LED display is difficult to read in midday. Really needs an inset mounting.

Kenwood Stereo Icing on Son's Cake

My son is still in college and his high mileage vehicle called it quits, so we purchased a newer vehicle for him to use. This put us back with an older OE factory stereo that was fine in it's day but doesn't offer what his generation (okay maybe me too) expect these days. Best Buy offered a great install bundle for a double din Kenwood similar to the one he had previously in the old vehicle to interface his iPods (or my iPad) with an eye to the future with Bluetooth for his next phone. It plays CDs well (where some of my discs disappeared to), offers HD radio and makes the iTunes files sound great. Great value!

Had this installed about 2 months ago on my 2012 Ram Truck. Likes are many functions, love the phone calling and being able to stream music from my phone over the system via blue tooth. Sound quality is good for calling. I live in a rural area and once the proper antenna cable was put on distance reception is great. Dislikes are that the display is virtually unreadable when the sun is out, even after trying all the display brightness adjustments. I also can't use the steering wheel mounted controls because the volume runs away when you touch the button. Had it back twice for that and they can't correct it. Kenwood says it's the install, not the radio. So I don't use the steering wheel volume controls. One more thing that's puzzling is that a radio with this many features did not come with a printed manual... its not convenient to look at it online on a phone so I had to print out 65 pages at home to be able to set things up and use as a reference. Minor dislike is having to scroll through all the features to change function. My "plain" factory radio (AM/FM/Satellite/CD) went out and this system was about half the cost of replacing that radio and I got a LOT more features. I would say I like it but all the bugs are annoying, they advertise a lot of features but they don't all work so well. I'll "recommend this to a friend" but would say be aware the final result is not as glamorous as the box advertises.
