I have these hooked up to a Kenwood eXcelon double din head unit @ 22rms x 4. I have these installed in a 2011 Colorado Extended Cab truck front and rear doors. At first I just put them in bare bones into the openings and they sounded just fine. Earlier today I installed some silicone speaker baffles from Recoil and also added some poly fill stuffing into the baffles (with glue because the baffles are open in the backside). Talk about some LOUD and CLEAR sound without an amplifer hooked up to them.. I have my head unit on crossover mode 100hz -12 fall off to filter out the very low bass (adding a subwoofer later). The baffles and poly fill made a HUGE difference in the full range of frequencies. These speakers were not distorting at all after adding the baffles and polly fill at full volume! If you can tweak your low end bass out, these speakers are champs. For 30$.. I highly recommend these! I am going to be adding the Kenwood Road Series 12" in the near future. (Had them in the past, very smooth sounding bass in a ported box.)

THEY DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO WITH STOCK WATTS

DROPPED THESE INTO THE FRONT DOORS OF A 13 HONDA ACCORD NON- NAVI. STOCK EVERYTHING, AS AN UPGRADE TO THE OUTGOING STOCK "SPEAKERS"...OVERALL, THESE SOUND MUCH BETTER IN THE SENSE THEY DONT DISTORT AND HAVE BETTER DEFINITION AND MIDBASS. BUT THESE DEFINITELY LACK ANY AND ALL LOW END BASS. IF YOU EXPECT THESE TO HAVE THE BOOMINESS OF THE STOCK SPEEAKERS + THE BETTER MID AND HIGHS, YOU WILL BE SORELY DISAPPOINTED. BUT THEN AGAIN WE SHOULD ALL KNOW BY NOW, LOW END BASS SHOULD COME FROM YOUR SUB/S NOT YOUR MIDS.

They do what they're supposed to. Wasn't expecting fantastic bass with a $30 pair of speakers, but they sound great in terms of sound quality. Beats the half-working ones I had installed before these.
