Great attachment for a great Stand Mixer that can make it very versatile. A lot of fun to make ice cream with the kids.

Even though it takes long for the initial freeze, if you always wash it after you use it and leave it in the freezer, you won't have to worry about not having it when you are ready :-)

First let me start off by saying once the ice cream is done, It is AMAZING! But you have to leave the ice cream accessory in the freezer over night b4 you can even think about making ice cream, which is a downfall for me. But following the instructions this is probably the best ice cream i have tasted! If you know you want to make ice cream the day before it is the BEST! But spure of the moment, Not going to happen!

We bought this for my wife at Christmas and made some that day it was good, of course we had to pull the container out of the box and sneak it into the freezer Christmas eve.

it takes up some room in your freezer I have a small freezer,its real easy to use

I would give the ice cream maker a 5 star rating if there were not a problem with the bowl getting stuck in mixer and would not release. I tried for almost a week. I emailed kitchenaid but they did not respond. I went on line and found in youtube the problem existed since 2014. I watched a few videos on their experiences and how they finally got the bowl unlocked but I still could not. I called Kitchen from a number I found online and it did work and I got someone to talk to. They told me to do all the same things I learned already on YouTube. I told them I had tried it all so they asked if I had someone strong to try and if they couldn’t to try tapping with a hammer to get it to move. My son came and he couldn’t get it off until he used the hammer. I had tried that but it didn’t work for me but he is much stronger. It is back working byt now I worry it will do it again. The first video said it still would get stuck every time she used it. The ice cream maker is great. But my concert I’d the company. Why did they continue to sell it unless they had resolved the pribkfn. I am not sure how many others had this problem but I found 3 on line who did. So 5 I love it but q!¡’

Easy to use and makes the best homemade ice cream!

Making ice cream is so much easier with this product. There is no need to use rock salt and clean up is a breeze. I love sherbet and this unit allows me to make favors that are not sold in the stores. The only draw back is that it should be stored in the freezer so it is ready to use when needed.

I love the final product the 12hours hour process or freezing the bowl I could live without.

I love that the unit operates with the kitchen aid stand mixer. I thought about purchasing an icecream maker that has its own motor but wasn't sure about it. This unit operates with the stand mixer's motor, which is powerful, so it works great. Prepping takes time (you technically need 2 days to make a batch of icecream) but if you plan ahead, that is not a major issue.

I was a little skeptical about this item since I have a Professional 5, which is about 15 years old. I was afraid this wouldn't work - thankfully I was incorrect! This worked wonderfully, and I've made three of the recipes that came with the attachment already. Each one has turned out great - nothing beats homemade ice cream! Highly recommend this item.
