I bought this a while back for a boom cooler I wanted to build for a float trip. I used a kicker cx800.1 and wired the sub down to 1-ohm and it actually managed to move enough air volume pop the coolers lid open, so I had to switch to a yeti-style cooler with rubber seals and latches. It's a well known fact that it's hard to have good base from car audio subs when not in a closed volume, like a trunk. Even in an open atmosphere it thumped like crazy. Along with a marine head unit, 4 kicker coaxial 6.5s and a digital alpine 4 channel amp, it would BLAST for a solid 8 hours on 2 lawn mower batteries, longer with a AGM designed for high performance audio systems, nearly 11 hours, I was even able to partition it off to still be used as a cooler as well.

I bought this sub yesterday after my old pioneer voice coil burned out. Apparently the audio guys sized the wrong sub to my woofer. Anyways i am now running this sub with an Infinity Kappa One Mono with 800w RMS x1 at 2 ohms in a ported shallow box i custom built into the side of my Land Rover trunk. This kicker sub sounds amazing!! I m not one for a lot of bass, but this sub has plenty. The highs that push thru the voice coil are crystal clear as well. If you are looking for a ton of bass i dont think this is your sub but im sure if you had a pair you would have plenty. For what im looking for, this sub is the right fit for me.
