This is a great sub when it's paired with a proper Amp. I got the Kicker CX600.1, which was recommended by the BestBuy Sales Associate and Geek Squad. I would like to point out a few things to those who are considering to purchase this sub. I have read on the this forum, and amazon about people blowing this Sub, and I think it is because of the incorrect specs reported by retailers. Best Buy specs this sub at 1600 watts Peak Power Handling and 800 watts RMS Power, while Kicker's site (the Manufacturer) has it listed at 1000 watts Peak Power Handling and 500 watts RMS Power. People are buying 750 watt RMS amps, cranking it up and blowing them. Here comes the tricky part if you go with the Kicker amps. From what was explained to me is that this speaker is much for the Kick CX300.1 amp and pairing them up with result in a dead amplifier. If you get the next model up, the CX600.1 amp, then don't turn it all the way or you'll blown the sub.

This sub is a perfect addition to any car sound system. It produces clean loud bass. I bought this sub with few expectations and was blow away from the moment I hooked it up. I currently have this sub hooked up to a Kicker DX-250.1 mono amp (way underpowered), while my new amp ships, and this sub still pounds. Excellent bang for your buck.

I have this hooked up to my pioneer amp that is 1 ohm stable and it sounds great. I'm not into the huge bass booming, but I gives out the low frequency bass that I crave.

So in general this Sub and Box is pretty good. Biggest Issue is Specs say 800 watts RMS 1600 Watts MAX. Problem is I blew mine in about 5 minutes putting 800 watts RMS into it, clean watts. According to KICKER its only a 500 Watt RMS sub and 1000 watts MAX. Big problem and a big waste of money. If you keep a 600.1 mono amp on it, pretty good bass, go any bigger and this thing will fry instantly

This sub bangs with the right amp and I purchased the kicker cx600.1 amp I must say I am pleased with my choice it shakes my 2000 ford mustang!

I gave this 2 stars because I saw the potential of this sub, but I blew it 5 minutes after walking out of the best buy door. I bought this for giggles just so i could have some temporary bass until i could upgrade, but my amp was the kicker 1200.1 which one of the employees said wouldn't be overkill. It was. In the middle of tuning the amp and the subs, the voice coil welded itself shut. Do not over power this sub and make sure your gain is set properly and you should be pleased with it. I now have the dual 12" enclosure which is a little more my pace. I need heavy bass, anything less is disappointing to me. The single sub sounded good while it lasted, but no where near powerful enough for me. Luckily best buy rocks and they returned and refunded me for it so I was able to purchase the dual enclosure. Thanks best buy.

After having it installed and hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate 500W RMS amp it hits beautifully :)
