I enjoyed this one a lot, it’s from the producers of Stranger Things w/ a great cast including Dennis Quaid and James Franco.

I think the thing to remember about this film that most people seem to be upset about; its not actually all that action PACKED. It is primarily an odd story about a couple of brothers and their run in with some nasty criminal characters, and yes it's almost entirely due to one of them being pretty dumb. He gets in way over his head and has really no choice but to drag his kid brother along for the ride. That's the primary story at play here, they just dropped a full on plasma rifle into the middle of it to kick it on its head. There's an excellent sense of escalation and even suspense involved, but in order to even make it to the plasma rifle's first firing you'll have to sit through a goodly chunk of the film. I get why this upset some viewers, but I found this approach refreshing. It allowed me to get invested in the characters and main story before the sheer chaos began. It's fairly gritty, and more than a little sad, but also full of humor and touching moments. If you allow yourself to care about the characters more than the rifle. I feel like that's pretty important. Every role is well acted, especially the mains, and James Franco clearly enjoys this kind of role because he shines as usual. Loads of fun to watch. The weapon itself is also a well crafted and written item, with satisfying action and a decent (if somewhat cryptic) explanation.

I was looking forward to the 4K and HDR to make the colors pop in this one but sadly it didnt stand out. In fact most of the time it looked like I was watching a bluray because of the grainy filter over the film. Movie was good but the money would be better spent on the bluray version.

I grew up on science fiction, both books, comics, and movies thanks to my mother who loved them also. Kin is one of those movies that I wish had been me when I was a kid, discovering alien technology, etc. Fun movie that I and my oldest son enjoyed watching. Hey! We're huge fans of Stranger Things and this didn't disappoint.

This action adventure movie with a sci-fi twist for children and grown-ups alike was much better than I had expected. Watch as a young boy from nowhere finds his true identity and destiny in this visually stunning movie. Definitely worth the watch!

I really enjoyed this film and I hope they continue the story with a sequel. It doesn't have multiple twists and plots but it does have a good heart and an interesting ending that wants me to come back for more.

About 1/2 way through the movie I found myself pausing the movie to figure out how much time was left. While overall I liked the movie, I that they could have left a little more on the cutting room floor.

Kin is an enjoyable action film with a sci-fi twist, interesting characters and good writing. The friendship between Eli and his brother is building but falls a little short on suspense.

This is an amazing movie. Never heard if it until I went to the store and picked it up. Price was great too. This movie is worth watching. The way it ended had me asking for more. I really really really hope they make a sequel to this movie. Worth watching!!!!!!

If you haven't seen this and you enjoy comic book movies or scifi films watch this you won't be disappointed. Theres not much in the way of a superhero but they leave this completely open to do so if they ever get around to making a sequel. This was a great movie!

An underrated him that was ahead of its time. All I can say is that it deserves a lot more credit than what It got. The bond of family and friends is far stronger than the outside forces tearing at them. The twist ending is what makes the film entertaining.

I have not seen this movie as it was a gift for someone else, so I cannot recommend from personal experience. But they liked it.

There are movies that you MUST turn your brain off because reality is just out there and character dynamics are impossible to imagine.. This film takes a bit of Sci-Fi and gives it a REAL family story and I loved it! Go for it, you’ll enjoy the story!

This movie goes beyond expectations and delivers on many levels. I didn't have great expectations for this movie, but it blew me away. Everything about this movie is incredible from the story to the effects to the characters.
